Which is why all the "Hillary was a flawed candidate who ran a terrible campaign" threads drive me nuts. We need our focus to be on the events and actions that actually count. Voter suppression and probably Russian influence are not going away for 2018 or 2020.

I haven't heard much recently from President Obama or Eric Holder about this, but I think voter suppression was going to be one of their main work areas.

Here is the quote that gets me:

We had Mark Swedlund, a database expert whose clients include eBay and American Express, look at the data from Georgia and Virginia, and he was shocked by Crosscheck's "childish methodology." He added, "God forbid your name is Garcia, of which there are 858,000 in the U.S., and your first name is Joseph or Jose. You're probably suspected of voting in 27 states."

This inherent bias results in an astonishing one in six Hispanics, one in seven Asian-Americans and one in nine African-Americans in Crosscheck states landing on the list. Was the program designed to target voters of color? "I'm a data guy," Swedlund says. "I can't tell you what the intent was. I can only tell you what the outcome is. And the outcome is discriminatory against minorities."

too many think of those votes as "their" votes, and figure they only need 50%+1.
when they wake up and realize that those votes belong to the voters, and are sacred to them, and start to fight for everyone who is disenfranchised, we will start to win again.

i didnt see/hear about dems making sure that voters got back on the rolls in time to vote.
this shit was out there. we had copies of voter rolls. we should have been able to figure out who got bumped and make sure they got right.
we could have done more to help people get docs they needed to comply.
all the bus trips that get organized in a campaign, i didnt hear anybody chartering a bus to take people to the dmv to get their photo id.

i could go on...

Name one person.

You are blaming the Dems and I bet you can't come up with one name.

In Michigan, the Opti-Scan machines "broke down" in heavily Democratic Flint and Detroit. Tens of thousands of votes not counted, even though they could have been counted by hand -- had the courts ordered it.

In Wisconsin, several "red" counties reported more votes cast than voters registered.

In Pennsylvania, voter suppression.

So there's the ball game!

Meanwhile the MSMT (Mainstream Ministry of Truth) is having a hissy-fit over Russian interference in the election.

Then there's Florida and Bush v. Gore in 2000, and Ohio in 2004.

Oh, and by the way, the KGB was disbanded with the fall of the Soviet Union in 1990.

I remember thinking that at the time Trump was having a rally there. Clinton was comfortably ahead there...5 pts or something. Even after the October surprise.

But Trump gets up there & shouts that he knows he's going to win Pennsylvania. It didn't sound like just campaign talk this time. He said he IS going to win...that if he doesn't win, then the "election is rigged!" Remember when he started saying that shortly before the election?

It doesn't sound like much, but as a political junkie who watches every debate and most campaign speeches that are televised, I picked up on something. I thought at the time..."that doesn't make sense. The odds are very much against him. Clinton will almost surely win PA. She's been solidly ahead for a while with no signs of a change. What an odd, offbeat thing to say."

That was about the time Trump said at a rally somewhere, "Russia, if you're listening....we need those 30,000 emails!" When I heard that, I thought that was odd, too. I told someone, "That sounds like a directive. Could that be a directive? That doesn't sound like his normal campaign trash talk." Just a few days later, a bunch of Clinton stuff was dumped by Wikipedia.

I'm convinced that Russia, w/the help of the Trump campaign, was able to do something in Pennsylvania that led to a Trump win.

I also am convinced that they were able to tweak enough votes in single districts in a couple of other states, like maybe Michigan.

It would take tweaking only in a couple of swing districts in key states.

BTW...I remember Ohio in 2004. That seemed illegal to me, but the Dems didn't do anything about it. Few people remember that, if they even knew about it at the time. But I remember, sort of. The Sec of State himself did it, as I recall.
