for President with the personal financial holdings like those of Mitt Romney?
I know there are many wealthy Democrats and there have been several very wealthy Democratic Presidents and candidates for President, but I do not recall any of them refusing to release their tax records or holding questionable investments in foreign countries.
Perhaps my memory is failing me, but I don't recall Roosevelt, Kennedy, Johnson, or John Kerry having investments like that.
How can any Republican not find fault with their candidate over this?

(45,851 posts)It's not so much that they see it as right or wrong, it's an open and shut case of the practical thing to do, morality doesn't even enter into the calculation.

(39,961 posts)That refuses to release their taxes, particularly one as wealthy as Mitt. Mitt is purposefully hiding his taxes, because I have absolutely NO DOUBT there are some highly damaging things in them.
The RW has been trying to paint this as "Obama attacks" to get in front of it, but I think the majority of people realize that Mitt is the one that caused this problem by completely lacking business ethics.
