Message going around Facebook

I just received this on Facebook and if this is not true, we need to refute it ASAP. Here is the message:

OK SENIORS HERE SOME REASONS TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW YOU VOTE IN NOVEMBER.

Subject: Fw: A message from Blue Cross Blue Shield - Very interesting

Message from Blue Cross Blue Shield/Be informed/Pass it on is a
must!!
A message from Blue Cross Blue Shield
Professor Emeritus John W. Hill, JD, PhD Kelley School of Business, Indiana University
hillj@indiana.edu MEDICARE Look clearly at the 2014 rate compared to the
2013 rate. For those of you who are on Medicare, read the
following. It's short, but important and you probably haven't heard about it
in the Mainstream News: "The per person Medicare Insurance Premium will
increase from the present Monthly Fee of $96.40, rising to:
$104.20 in 2012
$120.20 in 2013
And
$247.00 in 2014."
These are Provisions incorporated in the
Obamacare Legislation, purposely delayed so as not to confuse the 2012 Re-Election
Campaigns.
Send this to all Seniors that you know, so they
will know who's throwing them under the bus.

If something is "going around on Facebook" there's a 100% chance that it's false, and already debunked on Snopes.

If a piece mentions the term "Mainstream Media/News" in its body, there's a (near) 100% chance that it's false, and already debunked on Snopes.

In 2012 the standard cost/deduction is $99.90.

In 2011 it was $115.40.

Thank you Democrats for the reduction.

he is paying more now. It has to do with what year you turn 65 and if there is a cost of living increase in SS.

It pulls up websites debunking this. Sadly how many will believe shit like this without taking time to check. Don't mean to stereotype seniors, but I bet this will be the main subject at tonights Dominos game.

I wonder if the good Professor Emeritus John W. Hill, JD, PhD of Kelley School of Business, Indiana University
hillj@indiana.edu will do the academically responsible thing and post a retraction (if he posted it or made it to be posted) or a correction (if he didn't) since it went out under his name.

And, if he did post it and won't post a retraction, I wonder if his associated University has a policy on academic/publishing integrity that it would be willing to enforce, since an academic institution is only as credible as its academics?

They probably never heard of Snopes, and back in their day Blue Cross/Blue Shield was considered extremely reputable. So now we gotta get the word out about this.
