I wish we had a forum where we could just bitch about all the things that our friends can't stand to

listen to anymore.

I am not a big complainer but I have some things that have been going on in my family for several years and I feel I can't talk about anymore because I have worn my friends out. It's the same damn problem that I can accept sometimes but go crazy over at other times

I am really trying to be spiritual about it.......things happen for a reason yadda yadda but something I want to blow a hole in the wall with a piece of home decor. I screamed all alone in my house today and I felt dizzy and then I got a pain in my head so I thought I gave myself a stroke.

Here is a little interpretive emoticon expression piece on how I have been feeling all day.

We do. It's the Lounge. You can bitch about anything in the Lounge, and we'll listen. The Velveteen Ocelot Jun 2017 #1

I would be a downer if I brought up my crap.

Maybe I will try the next time I get upset. Right now I am on the mend from that scary stroke I brought in fit of rage. I've calmed down, it was actually nice to just write around it and to put some emoticons to it.

Thanks.

I gripe about bullshit in The Lounge all the time! Basement-grade petty stuff like traffic delays, irritating small talk, and pop-culture annoyances.

If they can handle me prattling about nothing, I'm sure that they can endure a few complaints about real things.

Family can really stress you out.
I am currently taking a break from a few extended family members.

I know it bothered my mom a bit but now she's had it with a bunch of them and my mom is the kindest person alive.

If you wouldn't choose them as friends there's no reason to put up with their crap because they're family. yes, we all have those little things that happen and that's ok, the constant drama and other toxic stuff - NO.. Just back away.

A different forum where I hang out has a thread in their community area that they call "Get it off your chest." People just go in that thread and vent about whatever is stressing them - family, work, any other situation. That is a non-political forum so that subject is seldom raised but just about everything else is.

The same forum has a special section for comfort and advice. That is usually used to bring up subjects that are sensitive - serious health and mental issues for members or their families are the most common subjects. The forum software restricts access to that section until members have been around for a certain amount of time - that ensures sensitive issues are not open to people who are not dedicated members.

Instead of hanging out on DU. I still have to finish packing and take a shower before we get on the road.

Get back to me next week and I'll see about it. Meanwhile, maybe start a "Get it off your chest" thread for people to vent in.
