(15,805 posts)The scenario, if true, is one of unimaginably terrifying implications. What now... what happens next and what will we be when the dust settles?
And do they have control of 2018 elections as well???
SticksnStones
(2,108 posts)And follow @mikefarb1 if you're on Twitter.
He's doing a real deep dive looking at the voting data and just how statistically off the charts the numbers are.
I think to understand how deep this goes, one needs to look at the type of investigators that Mueller is bringing on to his team.
Though it's still, for us on the outside looking in, a bit of tea leaf reading...for now

Who makes his living by evaluating geo-political situations and "gaming" or laying out the most likely to happen scenarios.
That's quite over- simplified, but the guy himself is steeped in enough knowledge to be the real deal.
He does call this his game theory. But it's based on Intel he has access to, and years of thoughtful experience.

Yup. I totally believe he's right. Putin, their State Security apparatus, the oligarchs and Aleksandr Dugin and Vladislav Surkov have been planning this for years, waiting for the right moment. They found it, and struck. We completely underestimated the fuckers.
Thank god for all the intelligence communities throughout NATO, and the FBI. They are the "thin red line" of 2017, and this is their Battle of Balaclava.
Thank god for all the citizen journalists who are not beholden to shareholders, who can tell us the plain, unvarnished truth as they see it.

(1,660 posts)There is going to be a lot more to unravel before this is done. We may be in the middle of the largest criminal network action in modern history.
As Eric said, this is far, far bigger than Watergate ever dreamed of being. This is History with a capital H - the real deal. In a way, I feel very privileged to be alive to witness it. In another way I'm scared spitless.

I've told my kids, now both mid-20somethings, that this is "their Watergate". Except this is Watergate on Steroids. We've NEVER had anything like this, even during Watergate.

(28,344 posts)Wow, those are wonderful words he wrote to complete his thread, don't you think? His optimism is very much welcomed.
I'll take any spark of hope to preserve treasured Democracy. Macron's win in France; Mays' bad news in Great Britain; and the demise of the Putin-Trump province of Russia.
I'm usually leery of discussions like this one, but I've always found Garland credible based on what I've heard and read.
I've read his thread twice, and plan on rereading it. I wish I knew how to save it all in maybe a pdf format.
He says this is the beginning of the end of the treason. Lordy, I hope so.
He credits Comey, Clapper, Yates, and the IC community. Thank God for them.
I wonder what, specifically, they found that convinces him the end is near. I wonder who's squealing. Could be any number of people. Maybe Rudy, and/or those rogue Manhattan FBI agents who were hell bent to force Comey's hand to go after Hillary.
So, I guess we best put on our safety belts because this ride's gonna get very bumpy-nasty.
Maybe the timing will work out where after the 2018 election, Speaker Pelosi will be our next President.
(Sorry for rambling, I tend to do that when I'm sleepy. At least that's my story!)

(1,660 posts)You should read it because it's the most heart-searing, soul-stirring, spine-straightening thing I've read anywhere so far.
It can't be summarized, because it's 124 tweets long. It hasn't been condensed AFAIK.
Learn to read Twitter for this one thread. It's worth it. Seriously.

I believe if you go to his actual Twitter page, there you'll find it in reverse order. So I'd suggest starting with the link here ( above ).

(48,939 posts)If anyone finds a long form web page of it I'd be grateful to see a link to it.
Twitter is such a shitty interface in the first place for long form writing.
It's so simple to write the long form and post the link. Why write the long form, break it up into over a hundred bite sized pieces and make over a hundred posts? What's up with that?

Eric is worth following(or just read his TL) - he'll introduce you to the Llama of Justice.

(2,108 posts)But somehow, the optimist in me feels as though when we're finally through to the other side a lot of the dirty tricks of politics will stop for awhile. Maybe we'll come out of this with a little less us vs. them...and a greater sense of honor for country and the general welfare of each other. We are essentially at war with Russia. When the other half of this country finally sees that, it could be unifying....
At least I'd like to hope so.
And God bless Robert Mueller and his team.

(1,387 posts)Eric threw in so many emotions- cathartic and needed by so many.I'm optimistic like you, but I do have my down days. Thank you for posting this. I've been following Eric for some time and I know a lot of people have never heard of him,so I was thrilled to see your post.

(2,108 posts)That is to say he's been proven to be who he says he is.
There are some interesting conversations happening in Twitter....some crazy ones, some rude angry ones, but also some interesting dialogging.
It can be a black hole of time though, but check it out if you're so inclined...
Blue_Roses
(12,894 posts)got active with it. My daughter keeps telling me to get back on it. I see some using their real names and some not. Which one is best to do, especially considering these crazy times? Any other time, it wouldn't bother me to use my real name.
Also, does Eric Gardner work for the IC?
SticksnStones
(2,108 posts)He now is a strategist for hire. He continues to have contacts in the IC and his area of expertise is advising on global political strategies and "gaming" what's next.
Also, as to Twitter, it's overflowing with trolls right now. If you care to comment, comments are taken more seriously if you use a real picture of yourself in your profile. Some use their real names, many, most don't. If you are just going to follow (read) and aren't really commenting it doesn't matter if there's no picture, fake name. It the Twitter verse, you look to gain 'followers'. Similar to the concept of DU's post count, the more followers, the more gravitas your tweets have.
People will randomly follow you as you post or retweet things, or in some cases if you follow them, they follow you back.

(1,353 posts)And I've been feeling for awhile that as beyond scary this whole Trump/Russia shit is, this IS now about our love of "pure" country and values this was all built on.
This was scary and uplifting at the same time. I would like to think this is even bigger than our country...

(9,974 posts)I travel for work so I was on the road at the time. My daughter and I were exchanging snap chats on November 10th. I felt the need to explain why I looked like shit...having not showered since the morning of the 8th, curled up in a ball on the hotel bed for 2 days not even wanting to turn on the TV and since DU was down I had no safe place to go to online. Food (except comfort snacks) and self hygiene were not a priority.
