have denounced Dump's decision to withdraw from the Paris Accord:
(Begin quote)On Thursday, the group of mayors that call themselves the Mayors National Climate Action Agenda took their commitment to the planet a step further by adopting the historic agreement of their own accord.
"As 150 mayors representing 47 million Americans, we will adopt, honor, and uphold the commitments to the goals enshrined in the Paris Agreement," the so-called "climate mayors" announced in a statement. "We will intensify efforts to meet each of our cities current climate goals, push for new action to meet the 1.5 degrees Celsius target, and work together to create a 21st-century clean energy economy." end quote)
The list is here I have written to my governor Larry Hogan to step up and join them. He's a Republican who's generally okay but he's been weasly about criticizing Dump so far.

(16,917 posts)(extend the index finger of the right hand and you've got MAYORS!).
But seriously, this is a wonderful moment that so many "Pugs" are coming out against Orange Cheat-o. They are showing that the general public is NOT supporting this idiot's program and standing up for the American community - more than the chicken-s**t Pugs in the House and Senate will do (yeah, I'm talking about YOU, "Turtle Mitch" and YOU, Paul "Eddy Munster" Ryan!).
We've got a great opportunity to continue a groundswell moment - here's our chance - let's keep it going!

(8,012 posts)Every evening I raise a glass to my husband of blessed memory and petition him to help us out down here by doing something about Donald Trump. Since he was addicted to watching the Weather Channel, I'm sure he had something to do with this.

(12,448 posts)but I told him he ought to join the ten governors, INCLUDING Terry McAuliffe of next door VA because we are waiting for a Republican to step up and put country over party. He's one of a dying breed: a moderate Republican; at least moderate compared to the majority of Republican assholes.

(6,145 posts)I'm having trouble posting the list because there is a @ in the link. BUT! It thrills me to see Trump supporting states with cities supporting this pact. For example, there were 6 major cities in North Carolina, two in South Carolina, Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Houston TX, a city in Utah, a city in Iowa, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. A Dallas paper is urging its mayor to sign. I'd like to see Baltimore on the list. DC is already on. It's just WONDERFUL.
Maybe more American people will begin to see that Climate Change is not a hoax, or "manufactured by the left".
