I don't have contact with many people in other countries and I was hoping that they don't think we support this idiot.

(205,320 posts)I don't think this is the best time to travel overseas, people everywhere have got to be curious - and more than a little shocked that this offensive fool is representing us.

(2,760 posts)Those of us who are sane need to interact with locals in other countries and let them know first hand how we feel about this awful turn of events in the US. I am in Europe at the moment and they are understanding and sympathetic, but the more contact they have with individuals, the better it is to spread the word.

They know.

(54,378 posts)I visit between four and eight countries a month for my work and live in Germany. I also have regular contact with people from countries I don't visit that often (e.g. Poland, Russia, Turkey, Romania, Norway, England, others).
Believe me, they know!

(497 posts)Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. From 2013 to 2015 we had a PM called Tony Abbott and he was an absolute dick head. Unfortunately for you, Trump is so much worse.
Somehow I don't think he will last the whole term. He complained after the 2nd day of his trip overseas, that he was exhausted. I think that he has now found that the job isn't as much fun as he first thought. Being a compulsive liar, he'll come up with some excuse and just resign. We can all hope.

(5,164 posts)They know the election results. 3 million more voted hrc etc. They've seen the demonstrations and resistance. I made it very clear on my instagram what I felt. Many of my followers are from other countries and they agreed. They know and many sympathize with our plight

(6,631 posts)People around the world are generally pretty well versed in American politics. As a Canadian I spoke with told me: "What goes on in America affects the world."
