(18,402 posts)That's an average of 31,250 jobs per month. Way worse than what we're seeing now.
And the problem is: many of those jobs were jobs lost forever. It's harder to create new jobs out of nothing than to refill old ones: but the old ones are gone (partly because of outsourcing, partly because, imo, things like retail jobs have disappeared due to Internet sales, partly because of the economy.)
