(WARNING: This video features abortion protesters who are holding posters with the usual disturbing fetus images on them. Close your eyes and just listen if that sort of thing bothers you.)
Only in the beginning of video and right at the end are visuals of a late-term abortion on protestors signs.
I don't think any of these answers would stand up in a court of law.

(12,287 posts)"If it's illegal it doesn't happen" bull. They are the types that close their eyes and cover their ears and go la,la,la, can't hear you. They have to know there would be a whole new black market created and there would have to be punishments for crimes since it's illegal.

(17,505 posts)... similar to the ones that existed in the 1950's, 1940's...30's....20's...the entire 18th and 19th centuries......
Stupid, emotionally immature people have no sense of history ("tradition", maybe, but real history...nada) or even that the world might be different from their back yards.... or different from what their minds made up...

correlational data, that abortion rates are as high, or even higher ( http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/story/health/story/2012-01-18/Higher-abortion-rates-where-its-illegal/52641546/1 ) in countries where abortion is illegal.
But these are the types of people who can interpret data the way that they want to - http://www.abort73.com/end_abortion/what_about_illegal_abortions/

(58,769 posts)the 10 Commandments don't talk much about penalties, just prohibitions.
So the proper response should be, screw making laws, let God punish them.

(12,254 posts)they all know at least one relative/friend/coworker who has had an abortion. Probably, several of these women have had abortions themselves. "They are already punished," is a good reason to drop the whole thing, IF they really believe that.

(12,254 posts)or are someone, you know why the choice was made and you know what kind of deliberation went into the decision. We don't really want to send our mothers or daughters to jail or go to jail ourselves. No, a person wouldn't want to think that far down the road.

(20,942 posts)they think of it as a commandment from God to not do. Thus to them is black and white you don't do this. When you ask them about real people that really need and have abortions, they don't know what to do or think. To them people have always talked about abortion like a logical construct. It's the same thing with thy shall not kill. That's fine but ask them what you should do to a soldier at war that kills another soldier or a man on death row... they don't know they don't think of these ideas a concrete realities. If they did it wouldn't be so easy for the leaders of these organizations to stir them up into the frenzy of hate that they do. It doesn't matter if they know people that have had problems in their pregnancy they never told to think of these issues as concrete realities in your life.

They don't care what happens to those have abortions and they don't want to take care of the babies they are trying to force women to bear.

(57,936 posts)That man insisted that the death penalty was the only appropriate punishment. Finally, my husband asked him "If your daughter got pregnant and had an abortion, would you want her to face the death penalty?" The man just stood there in stunned silence.
These people really don't understand that social policies that help families, mothers in difficult pregnancies and single mothers by educating and empowering them work better than criminal punishment.
Women have abortions for many reasons. But these fanatics don't look beyond the obvious.
Another example of short-sightedness on the right. It takes a willingness to look beyond the surface to find intelligent answers to our problems.

(39,909 posts)when abortion WAS illegal.
Every day, young women were dying in back alleys from botched abortions.
This tragedy touched almost every extended family at some level.
It even intruded into the bubble of The Rich way too often.
Many of the RICH did send their pregnant daughters to a month long "vacation" in Switzerland,
but some didn't make it,
enough so that the law was changes to Save Lives.
The move to legalize abortion was NOT based on "Morality", "Choice", or "Values".
It was done to STOP the Bloody Carnage and wasted lives of our daughters, nieces, and friends.

(288 posts)Shouldn't they be allowed to decide whether or not to have the child? Maybe this hits me personally because my aunt has two children, one with autism, and one with the worst kind of down's syndrome. (She throws feces at people) I'm just thinking, you know, if the doctor told me that my wife or girlfriend was going to have a child with some awful disease....I would strongly consider getting an abortion. Because I see how hard it is on people whenever they have children with rare diseases. I was watching a documentary about a child born with childhood onset schizophrenia. Her parents have to have two apartments, one for their normal baby boy, and one for their six year old daughter. They do this because the voices tell her to kill her brother all the time. So most of the time, the parents are split up, living in one apartment or another. The dad had this drugged look, like he was obviously on some strong antidepressants. I mean life can be hard if you don't really take this stuff into account.

(3,415 posts)My solution is Planned Parenthood on every corner, Yes! at the McD's and 7-11, and free of charge, of course! Hey, you catch my drift.....Education and contraception widely available to young women makes their argument moot. Yet those things are the very things they prohibit, making abortion necessary! Why is that? Just another question they cannot answer............Maybe it's time for the Human race to move into the 21st century.

(872 posts)"Should women who have an abortion get life in prison, or the death penalty?"
There isn't a crime on the books that doesn't come with a penalty. Give them a $5 fine? What does that say about the position that "abortion is murder"?
Seriously, if we make abortion a crime equivalent to murder, the doc AND the woman should be facing the penalty for murder; depending on the state life in prison or death by lethal injection. To say that abortion is murder and then insist otherwise when it comes to doling out the penalty is the epitome of hypocrisy.
Let's try another alternate question. "If abortion is murder, shouldn't the doctor (the murderer) face the same penalty as any other murderer, and should the woman face the same sort of penalty that a wife who hires a hitman to kill her husband faces?"
I'm so tired of "holier than thou, called by God" fucks telling me, or anyone else, how to live their life...
