I see the ACA as a pretty big deal (in a good way).

We are about 75% of the way towards a decent health-care system now, of which 50% was kicking in the door to any sort of system of universal coverage. The last piece of the puzzle, which can be added in the future, is a public option. The final result would be a system remarkably similar to that of various European countries.

Let's face it, "single payer", i.e. the complete nationalization of the health insurance industry, is currently not doable in America. Maybe at some point in the future, when people are less afraid of "communism".

And: No system of universal coverage works without a mandate, so I really don't get the complaints about it.
