By going after the less conservative republican in the primary so republicans nominate the more conservative that can't win against a dem.

Alan grayson did it during one of his campaigns.

that one should run for every seat and not let republicans run unopposed even in very red districts. GA-6 where Ossof is running is very red and yet he might win. he is ahead by 1 in the polls.

we should challenge every seat all the way down to dog catcher if needs be. We may not win all of them but it will keep the momentum and get name recognition for those who do run. Eventually we will prevail. In 2010, the gop won 63 seats in congress after the aca vote. We are on a course to return the favor in 2018.

we cant really primary a gop candidate. I dont think playi g stupid games like switching registration to mess with the gop primary is productive.

FYI, here's my situation... I registered unaffiliated several election cycles ago in order to vote for a left leaning Rethug candidate against a conservative rethug in a local election. No Democrat challenged. I have been a Democrat my entire life and this was the only time I voted for a Rethug in any election for any position ever.

I have a US rethug rep who consistently is unchallenged by a Democrat or another rethug.

Basically, I'm looking at what I can do in the 2018 cycle besides donating to other in state or out of state Democratic candidates.

First, its hard to.predict which repub is better to run against since they are all completely out there. Second, for it to work you would need a sizable number of dems registering gop and coordinating to vote for the "desired" gop candidate. Then, you also need a dem to run who would benefit from it.

I would rather spend my energy getting dems to run and voters to show up. Essentially. join an indivisible group or similar and work with them to support dems for running and organize actions to pressure members of congress. Thats what I have been doing since the election.

in some states with closed primaries you have to be registered gop to vote in the gop primary, same for the democratic primary.

15k new people have stepped forward to run in the 2018 primaries nation wide, that would include State Local and National Democratic spots. Once you Registrar and pay your filling fees, then away you go. One can wage a damn effective Campaign on a Shoe String. It is all about the message and staying on Message. Postal Mailers are so cheap and effective in most areas.
