She's an ex ballet dancer with a degree in liberal arts from California. She's an admitted atheist who wrote a book about how liberals dismiss Christianity. She was nothing until she decided to become a caricature of the modern female conservative, loving hunting and NASCAR more than anyone. The Salon article suggests it's all a way to carve a niche for herself as a pundit. I think she's an entertainer and not a serious political pundit.
