Heres everything Melania Trump has done as first lady

Four paragraph rule. Complete list at URL below.

Here’s everything Melania Trump has done as first lady

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/04/heres-everything-melania-trump-has-done-as-first-lady/

February 1: Melania Trump hired Lindsay Reynolds as chief of staff to begin filling the vacant office of the first lady. Reynolds, who previously served in former President George W. Bush’s White House as the finance chair for his 2004 re-election campaign, marked the new first lady’s official first hire.

February 3: Longtime advisor, fashion consultant and friend of Melania Trump’s, Tham Kannalikham is hired to begin redecorating the Trump’s private living quarters in the first lady’s new presidential pad. Meanwhile, the Trumps remained silent on when, exactly, the rest of the first family would be moving to Washington, D.C.

***

April 5: Joined by Queen Rania of Jordan, Melania Trump visited the all-girls public charter school, Excel Academy, in an impoverished area of Washington, D.C. The two partake in a listening session, inquiring as to how the school was building life skills for its young female students.

April 12: The Daily Mail paid $2.9 million to settle Melania Trump’s libel suit, apologizing to the first lady and issuing an official retraction on its website over a story that implied she once "provided services beyond simply modelling." This may not appear to be a typical accomplishment for a first lady, but it’s a feat Melania Trump vowed to continue regardless of whether her husband won the election, and after much hard work, she was eventually successful in doing so.

That's some of the missing content which can be found at the link, since I obeyed the 4 paragraph rule.

3. Compare and contrast: Michelle Obama

If, as the West Wing correctly contends, the first 100 days of a new Administration is not an accurate gauge by which to judge a new president’s abilities and success, it is a grossly unfair way to assess a First Lady. That said, only the most rigid of traditionalists or activists could assess Michelle Obama with anything less than an “A” grade as the new First Lady.
(snip)
The most immediate way of striking a balance between “Queen and commoner” is turning the palace where she lives over to the people who own it. Pat Nixon, for example, opened the grounds to the public twice a year, ordered the holiday-decorated mansion open at night for those who worked during the day, and instituted the first public tours for those who were disabled, deaf, blind, and did not speak English. Michelle Obama has sought to build a bridge between the White House and the various urban communities that comprise the District of Columbia. Several times in the last one-hundred days she’s sought out local public school groups to come to the White House, inviting cooking classes into the kitchen as the first large dinner hosted by the Administration was being prepared, grammar school kids in for an African-American History Month presentation, and another to help her launch the vegetable garden on the South Lawn.
The First Lady's First 100 Days

The whole thing is worth a read. Michelle put her heart and soul into her role; a role she didn't necessarily seek.

8. I've always felt rather sad for her

She seems to be a woman who knows her place: back in the shadows, never being anything but an accoutrement, another item on a rich, important man's list of expensive property. Really sad are some of the pictures she herself has taken, especially since even her son is never shown interacting with her, he's always looking away.

Here is one batch of them gleaned from her social media posts, https://qz.com/960985/a-deep-analysis-of-melania-trumps-social-media-photos-reveal-a-woman-in-hiding-from-the-world/ I think the article rather over analyzes her but you do have to admit some of her photos are very strange, especially combined with the pattern of being left far behind to fend for herself by her husband at what are supposed to be joint appearances.

The saddest part of all this is that she very likely considers it all to be normal. She has many social media fans. I often wonder if she has any friends.

14. Somebody who wants his kid to grow up to hire other people to do everything for him

instead of sending him out on the beach with a pail and kiddie shovel to have his own fun building lopsided sand castles like we normal kids do. After all, somebody else will build a much better sand castle that he ever could.

Some wit once said "money is how untalented people keep score." Well, that idea is perpetuated most of all by the moneyed, themselves.

16. The only thing I expect from a First Lady is have the East Wing up to do tours.

She doesn't have to do anything else. She doesn't have to have a cause to promote. It's an unpaid position that no one elected her for. I support her not doing anything if she doesn't want to do anything.

I prefer an active FLOTUS, but I don't require one.
