There are two knowns, though...

1) The Chinese DO NOT WANT the U.S. on their border.
2) The Kremlin wants it's territory under the former USSR back and especially not joining NATO. Also, the Kremlin is willing to go to extreme measures to insure their continued domination in the region. (SEE: Montenegro and Ukraine.)

Speaking of MacArthur... There's also this parallel with the current administration.

.....and China is extremely unlikely to use nuclear weapons against a country that has about 15 times more atomic weapons then they do. And Russia knows they can't knock out the US triad in a first strike and has no desire to commit suicide over N Korea.

Some time ago a crazy dream came to me

I went to the doctor the very next day

I said, “Hold it, Doc, a World War passed through my brain”
