Given the current state of Congress, though, it's not out of the question, really.

of course.

I want a draft and I want politician family members, starting with all of Trump and Pence's kids, required to serve two years, including the daughter.

Anything else is absolutely unacceptable.

The Selective Service is already in operation and has regional and local offices and boards! The boards are much more diverse then they use to be, the one I serve on has people from different walks of life, blue collar to white collar, high school to college educated, retirees and people still working!

I would like to see all of us too old to be drafted block each and every MEPS (Military Entrance and Processing Station) in the country. In addition, no ERA = No Women drafted at all.

The GOP whole military strategy is to get poor and working class people to fight America's wars while the upper 10% never have to worry about fighting.

That's the reason Democrats are for a draft - they want shared sacrifice. Feingold was pro-draft. And the GOP is against a draft. Far better to spend money at NFL games to persuade the kids of the 99% to enlist.

It has always seemed to me that the Rs favor an all voluntary-enlistment military. It fits hand in hand with their ideological views about the economy/taxes and a strong defense, plus it allows them to keep their own skin out of the game.

Is there any basis to this "If" post?
