Report from Georgia 6

I just got back from the first day of early voting in my area. The line was as long as it was in November, where I voted at the same location. We attended a house party for Jon Ossoff yesterday. The host invited local musicians and opened his house and wonderful yard to strangers to support Jon. It's been a long time since I've felt involved, and all I've really done is to contribute, but I've met the candidate in person twice now. It's exciting.

If he gets the votes of the other Dems and independents in the runoff, he'll be at 48%. So he would still need to turn about 2% of those currently polling as R to win the runoff.

Or just win the turnout battle.

Karen Handel is likely to be the R in the runoff, and she has a spotty record, so quite a few R's might stay home for the runoff. Jon would need to really do the GOTV work well and he could pull this off. A special election runoff could be won by just a few votes. In head-to-head polling, it's a virtual tie.

Let the Republicans be complacent for once. Our side needs to be energized for turnout.

Last times, Brexit and Trump, that treand was much, much greater. Some don't admit who they are voting for, and that was exaggerated w Brexit and Trump.

Maybe, in Red Georgia, it will go the other way, and the red folks will be embarrassed to say they are voting blue.

People move. It sounds like this district has had big demographic changes which might help our chances.

Maybe some of the Dems who left the rust belt have moved south.

Obama's run for president. We have been canvassed four times, and not a day passes without hearing from Ossoff, whether through direct mail, social media or commercials. There are Ossoff signs everywhere in my neighborhood.

If we can GOTV, we will win.

I moved here from Kansas. It's still a red state but it doesn't seem so hopeless. John Lewis represents the district just south of here.
