(16,104 posts)I would have been 100% in support.
Even Democrats can have zero tolerance for genocide.

(16,104 posts)We'll see if Assad stops again. And if there's a next time, who will be our target - next time?

(2,736 posts)I had mixed emotions but I thought of the nazis using chemical weapons
against innocent people and that did it.
It's a shame president dipshit didn't do it right.

(57,349 posts)Let's not forget the votes for the Iraq invasion. At least most are willing to question the Republican president this time around - they learned their lesson.
Kudos to the congresspeople and senators who are speaking out against the use of unilateral military force.

(57,349 posts)And those of us who opposed the Iraq invasion - we approved of genocide as well? How'd that kind of intervention work out for the Iraqis again?
Disapproving of chicken hawk diplomacy isn't the same thing as siding with brutal dictators. We should look at other options instead of responding with military force and hoping for the best.

(960 posts)And his airfields are still operational so even that didn't happen.

Your post illustrates clearly, the irrational nature of partisan extremism.

(298,037 posts)I've given you the facts and clearly you can't handle them. You want to spin this to take cheap pot shots at Hillary.
It's not working.

(9,527 posts)I'd say more about how a real discussion on the merits of any particular action in response would require willingness to think outside the bounds of your own world view, to study history of what happens when we do and when we don't get involved, to play out the scenarios of what different steps might result in. But given you seem to think the issue is so simple it can be dismissed with banal internet acronyms, it seems like a waste of time.
Refusing to act in the face of a crisis doesn't actually disoblige you from the consequences of doing nothing. There is a reason Bill Clinton calls his failure to do something to prevent the Rwandan Genocide his greatest failure. You can argue the Trump administration's approach was wrong or ineffective, but to do that and be taken seriously, you would have to actually present an alternative course. Doing what you're doing is easy. It requires nothing, no risk, no effort. You can't even bother to offer what you think would be better.
