PLEASE DEMOCRATS! SHOW SOME BACKBONE.

Why do we always play nice and think the Republicans will someday go along with us? Jesus F. Christ! Does anyone really think the GOP will give a rat's ass when the next SCOTUS nominee comes up? They don't/won't ever care. EVER. When RBG retires, when the next SCOTUS judge dies, the GOP will be just as hard-ass and demand another hard-right justice. Why do WE always have to be the ones to give in?

I just wish I had had a candidate which brought forth the passion of the lunatics who still think Trumpsky is a good president. This is NOT "re-litigating the election" or dissing our party. I voted for Hillary, and I'd vote for her again. But it's is hard to deny that we ran a very poor campaign. Look at the clown in office...that guy WON!

guts of your own.

America has one fantastic party committed to the wellbeing of all America. We are that party. It's not weakness that sank us, it's honesty, decency, and commitment to principle.

Or perhaps I should say, it's lack of the great power of DIShonesty harnessed by the right, the freedom of action gained by abandoning integrity and decency.

I really have to wonder about people who are not PROUD to be Democrats and who mistake competence and principles for weakness.

I work for the Democrats. I've won 27 awards (Pollie and Reed) for my work electing Democrats. My proudest moment was my work for Obama. It doesn't mean I can't be critical when I see the party going astray. Ask yourself, why are we in the vast minority in every state house in America? I'm a "coastal elite," I live in a totally blue part of the country, but why are we losing everywhere else? Because we're disconnected. We don't fight. We think we know it all. Meanwhile, people in the middle of the country vote for celebrities like Duck Dynasty Trump. Because we don't appeal to them or fight for their their values. Or what THEY think are their values, because they're sold a line of bullshit by billionaires who tell them that abortion and gays are what's killing them.

across the nation, from long-term impoverished communities on up to professionals seeing their autonomy and very ability to do their jobs with being destroyed by new corporate masters, we being addressed by the Democrats. And many, many smaller ones, like the plight of people caring for relatives.

That "disconnected" line, the "elites" line, the "forgetting the people" line are huge lies that the right--and, yes, Russia--are blanketing America with.

These lies are so blatantly wrong that there is no excuse for those who fall for them. People need to consciously DISconnect from this blizzard of propaganda and examine the party to see what it stands for.

I suggest starting very simply with comparing the platforms of both parties for what they reveal about ideology. Then Hillary Clinton On the Issues. What she hoped to accomplish for the nation is still up.

Or just LISTEN to only one of the debates. Look for the supposed "disconnect" and failure to address the concerns of working people. Then the Democratic candidates from one's own state.

No one who did half of that would still believe these lies being pushed hard everywhere, including right here DU. Or find themselves innocently subverted into helping the GOP keep power. Because they are part of battle for which party will control the nation after 2018 and 2020 is on--big time.

Say anything you want. I'm just being honest. We ran an unlikable candidate against a celebrity goon. America is a very stupid nation. They keep saying they hate celebrities and Hollywood elites, then they vote for them over and over again. We're fighting against idiots and don't understand why the coastal elites offend them.

And won the popular vote, even with a terrible candidate.

With so much on the line you'd think Dems would have nominated a better candidate who could bring in votes from outside the party as well as within.

All of my state's electoral votes went to Clinton, even though she was overwhelmingly defeated in our primary. Apparently, we did what we could to hold the line. It's too bad some won't move beyond blaming those who didn't want her to be the nominee for her loss, instead of accepting responsibility for nominating a weak candidate.

In my view, Democrats ought to be ensuring that a loss like that doesn't happen again, instead of continuing the divisive cycle of blame. It does nothing to heal the division in the party.

I make no apologies for it. WE always give in, we always capitulate, while they laugh at us and get their way every single time. They control virtually every state house, every legislature, because we don't want to upset anyone or hurt anyone's feelings. Prove me wrong. Where are Dems winning? I live in freakin' CT, with a total Dem lock, and I'm not sure that will even hold up. I'm fighting the good fight, but it gets pretty tiring when I don't feel like other Dems are on board.

It exists to wield the power of corporations and big money against the interests of the American people. Corporations and vast fortunes are not human. They have no morals, no feelings, no decency. They exist for only one reason: to concentrate wealth.

And the Republican Party has sold out to these entities in return for permanent power. The entire leadership of the party should be in jail.
