The guy just gave a speech, and when he got to the point where he was talking about the Republican healthcare 'act' he said, "They don't give a shit about people."

Now, the GOP is demanding an apology.
Me, I think there's only one answer to that, and it begins with F and ends with U.
Good for Perez.

It's the most optimistic I've felt about the party in ages.

(34,135 posts)I was going back to Independent after the primaries but doing that got lost in the mess of life so I am still a D for now. I may stick around and send some money. He seems to be inclusive of all aspects of our party and I really appreciate that but most importantly he has guts and seems to want to stand up for all of us. He and Ellison will be a killer combo.

(4,742 posts)We need to be honest with people...especially the low educated white people who voted for Trump. He doesn't give a shit about you. He just used you for a stupid vote and you fell for it.

(4,443 posts)He is exactly the kind of Democrat we need right now. Nothing less. He's not afraid to speak the plain truth to power. We will stand with him.

(45,563 posts)and optimistic for our future. We need to have our people fired up to win big in 2018. Meanwhile Trumpers are going be wondering why Trump hasn't created the jobs he promised and has screwed them over instead. We could win over some of them, enough of them in some states to flip close Senate elections.
It's not a presidential year so turnout will be low...on their side. Our side needs high turnout.

* Voter suppression
* Drug testing for welfare & just about everything these days
* Kicking 24 million people off healthcare
* Anti-immigrant
and more.

Reminds me of this major-league publicist who handled a slew of A-listers - whose signature quote was "I only talk to people who count."
