Can't vouch for the veracity of all details, but much has been corroborated or reported elsewhere.

Long Story short, to dislose all now risks compromising investigation into Russian mafia that effects the US govt. and citizens in ways greater than just the 2016 election.
Hopefully, in time, they can bring the hammer down on everyone involved.

(51,090 posts)Democracy, and it's telling us, "Don't worry, all is well, go back to your Minecraft games."
All is not well. I do not think we should have to wait any longer to have our intelligence community stop the invasion of our country by an adversarial country.
If there is an investigation of the Russian mafia in the US government, the IC needs to begin to STOP the Russian mafia from interfering in the US government.
They need to stop saying, "Oh, well, this thing is so big we can't reveal anything about it, so for now we'll let the Executive Branch, the Justice Department and ALL the cabinet departments be further overrun and demolished by Russian agents and people who don't give a shit about Americans."
This makes no sense.

Watergate took 900 days, Iran-Contra a couple of years, this may be the same.

(51,090 posts)the government. Then watch for who else below them needs to be investigated and do it.
Saying that they need to stay in place, though there is clearly evidence against them, is absurd.
If they need some more time to line up their ducks, that's one thing. But if they are allowing criminals to govern the country because there are other criminals around, that's ridiculous.

(15,711 posts)The tick is "Russia", including Putin, organized crime, Alfa bank, the analytic agency run by the Mercers, and the whole web of poison infiltrating our country.
I'm sure Putin is fine with ousting Trump and seeing Flynn go to jail, as long as his web of internet trolls and bots, and money laundering mobsters isn't disturbed, and Pence is around to do his bidding.
Like I said in my OP, I don't know if everything at the link is true, but enough has been verified elsewhere, that I think as long as Comey isn't a part of the coverup (not a given at this point) then I can be patient waiting for an ironclad case for prosecution, or at least the appointment of an independent special prosecutor.

What kind of "patriots" would sacrifice our country in order to protect an investigation?

(58,785 posts)are everywhere. Comey, our great protector. When all is revealed, there'll be nothing to do but send him hugs and medals.
No, this is not about a giant Russian mafia conspiracy he's battling heroically while we cluelessly enjoy the safety he brings us. We have plenty of criminal conspiracists of our own, and the big question is the degree and nature of his collusion with them.
And this propaganda begs the question of who is paying to blanket America with it and why; just payment for services or, likely, he has something on them too.
No matter. This is a democracy, andit will stay a democracy. At very least the Director of the FBI will be required to resign for his involvement in subverting our elections.

(30 posts)FBI director Comey already demonstrated his partisan Republican credentials when he dumped irrelevant information involving Hillary on the public. It might be that the FBI is holding back information for legitimate reasons but Comey has given reason to suspect they are are withholding info to protect Trump and his circle.

(17,984 posts)They already lost Sater due to other people's investigations. That very fact should convince them that no one is going to look the other way while they continue at their usual, glacial pace. And I am also convinced that there are people in the FBI eager to leak intel to speed up the process. So one way or another, they are going to need to find a compromise between their ongoing investigations and the public outrage. Even if Comey is a rethug partisan, he should realize that nothing his party or Li'l Donnie does is going to be big enough to distract the majority of Americans from Russiagate. We are beyond the tipping point. Too much has already been exposed.

(1,078 posts)I'm sure the FBI is being as thorough as possible. I know we all just want them to give us the goods on Trump so we can hurry up and get him outta the White House. But they've gotta be a certain as they can be that they've got every single piece of evidence on every single person who committed any crime associated with this. From Trump and his advisers and cabinet down to the lowliest temp or campaign intern and everyone in between.
It won't do the FBI any good to come out with stuff against Trump prematurely. Then some unknown co-conspritor (who may be in elected office, the IC or somewhere else in gov't) could cover their tracks and get away with it and worse, stay in place. And it won't do them to come out against Trump until the case against him is exhaustive, meticulous and monumental in scope. The FBI, American people and our system of government and justice will only get one shot at this.
We can have it done quick or we can have it done right. We probably can't have both.
