Now you see I am the one who lectures others about not voting 3rd party or not at all.
I am the one who loves to tell people you MUST vote in every election and you MUST vote for whoever the Democratic candidate is NO MATTER WHAT otherwise you are voting for a fascist republican prick.
But, that doesnt mean we cant primary some of these people, and we may have to.
This is UNACCEPTABLE, Mr. Leahy.

(31,106 posts)hating gop assholes will do away with the filibuster, but at a minimum it must be done by our side.
Personally, when the gop decided the election of Obama didnt count and they could deny him his SC, I figured all bets were off at that point, and there are for me.
The system is broken and by them.

I suspect they might not break the filibuster. They know they need it, and Trump isn't exactly their favorite guy. I can easily picture them telling Trump "This one is not going to fly. Nominate someone else." Then they'll get another RW lunatic. And here we go again.

(30,717 posts)Don't threaten him. We need him in our caucus.
I am getting sick of the purists here threatening to primary Democrats we need in Congress.
You are very naive.

(165 posts)Codeword for anyone that opposes democrats rolling over and appeasing the fascist right wing? Because if it is, I am definitely a purist and you will start getting sick much more often from now on.
GOP blocks garland for more than half a year and democrats won't even filibuster? We don't need these weaklings in our party. We need fighters.

(30,717 posts)And I repeat, you are a naive purist.

(165 posts)Isn't a fighter. I guess I'm a purist because I don't want democrats rolling over for the GOP and Trump. But I'd rather be known as a purist than a fascist appeaser.

(3,077 posts)I urged him to filibuster. I was just saying that he needs to hear from voters.

(31,106 posts)My job is to get the word out to those in his state, and the other Democratic senators thinking the same thing, if any.
The idea he would make that decision, just is crazy. That is not the Leahy I know and I have known his politics for a long time, or I thought I did.
