They are shown as mean and vicious. Is this necessary? And why are they? It shows the white as naive and ignorant of what's really going on except living conditions. It shows they don't know if they don't work they get beaten or worse.

Is it a "portrayal"? Why would the "overseers" not take advantage of the illegals? Who's going to hold them accountable?
