(6,416 posts)The fact that no republican is interrupting for some bull chit point of order...tells me this was well orchestrated and none of the committee members are hearing this opening statement for the first time.

I think he will say if Obama did surveil Trump they had no knowledge
Orrex
(63,261 posts)That would make Comey look like he has no idea what's going on during his watch. Would he throw himself under the bus like that, simply for the sake of an after-the-fact zinger on Obama?

(31,261 posts)or foreigner without many people in the intelligence community finding out about the effort. Plus, the President ordering such surveillance was made illegal 39 years ago. Why would Obama risk his reputation and prison to wiretap Trump. Trump lied about Obama ordering wiretaps, pure and simple.

(28,891 posts).. that would be great!
But what does "investigation" mean. Well ..
.. for the Reeps who control Congress it means finding
and punishing leakers.
.. for the FBI I have no idea. I have this picture in my head
of agents pushing paper from one department to another
in some kind of vicious circle.
I hope that's just my overactive imagination, but I will only
believe it when I see it.

One other thing, he's going after Manafort mercilessly. Manafort is a resident of his neighboring district in Connecticut and more than rumors of "illegal activity".

With a brief outline of each of the topics in the paragraph above, beginning at Carter Page, but perhaps not stopping at the end of it.... is there even a bit of doubt in anyone's mind that a DA could get an indictment against any defendant off the street?
