Richard Painter, President George W. Bush's former ethics lawyer, said late Friday he has major concerns over the Trump administration's ties to Russia. In an interview with CNN's Don Lemon, Painter spoke about reports that former national security advisor Flynn was working for foreign agents while also working for the American government.
It makes no sense to run a government this way, Painter said. "This is a completely chaotic situation, and then Gen. Flynn lied about his contacts with the Russians, lied to the vice president, and weve had the attorney general in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee say he did not contact the Russians when he had contacts with the Russians."People are not being honest about their foreign contacts, and talk about this deep state theory as if there are somehow Obama moles in the government under the Trump administration, Painter continued.
Its the KGB agents running around the West Wing or the national security council."
Lemon appeared shocked by Painter's language saying "Wow, wow! That is a pretty strong thats pretty strong, Richard."President Trumps transition team was reportedly told that Flynn would likely have to register as a foreign agent before stepping into an administration job. The White House claims Trump was unaware of his lobbying work.
Flynn filed paperwork on Wednesday to officially register as a foreign agent, and admitted that he may have done work that benefited the Turkish government. The retired Army lieutenant general was previously paid more than half a million dollars for work for a Turkish company.

(31,096 posts)Each day that passes that not one republican in America does the patriotic thing, is one day closer to a disaster.

(14,941 posts)False. The intersection is now null.
They portrayed themselves as .All(Patriot)
5-10 years ago it became a .Some(Patriot)
Now it is .None(Patriot).
Sorry for the mangled objective terms, but in the end logic decisions need to be made based on whether these classes contain any Patriots. Perhaps the real ones are __hidden but then how do their constituencies (and $$$s) find them?
Retrospection only works if the underlying infrastructure allows it. And that infrastructure is being stripped away (obfuscated?) as fast as the short little fingers can do it. Maybe time for some raw metal re-engineering?

(14,941 posts)Would stand up the the slime that is engulfing their party as well as corrupting the US Democratic Process.
I understand that most senators and representatives live in mortal fear of not being re-elected.
Actually they more live in fear of not getting the non-taxable perqs. I don't want to infer that these perqs aren't above-board, aren't reported to the taxing authorities and regulatory agencies, aren't excreted into secretive bank accounts, etc.
The very people that are supposed to be representing us are the ones that are robbing us and raping the future of all generations to come.

(4,824 posts)We need strong language now. It is the soft language the MSM has been using that has helped to destroy this democracy, i.e. calling a big fat lie a falsehood.

(64,979 posts)We have to look these fucks in the face and call them the dirty liars that they are. If there is one thing I've learned, the "reachable" trump voter respects a person that "calls it like it is." They are tired of politicians that pussyfoot around. I am so sick of hearing from the trumpkins about Trump "calling it like it is." Fight fire with fire.

(383 posts)Almost every country have American citizen agents working on their behalf. These agents lobby for such things as aid, policies, laws, trade, etc. that benefit their country. All legal and above board and, for the most part, helpful and informative. BUT, these agents must REGISTER as an agent. Nothing untoward being an agent for a foreign power when rules and laws are followed.

(9,865 posts)Flynn was vice-chairman on the transition team. Pence was chairman on the transition team. Rep. Cummings sent a letter, addressed to the head of the transition team, about Flynn's foreign agent job three weeks before the story emerged about Flynn lying.
They all knew and it's part of their M.O. or some plan they were working on and the "Flynn lied" story is only to cover Pence's ugly ass.
We've got to quit repeating the "Pence Innocent" story. That is not what happened. Their illegality merely got outed.
Maddow mapped it all out last night.
