Theres a Cuban American first-term senator running for president who has done more than any Republican to stop Obamacare.
No, Im not talking about Ted Cruz (R-Tex.).
Im talking about Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
The battle against Obamacare has been Cruzs signature struggle. In 2013, Cruz took to the Senate floor and promised to speak out against Obamacare until I am no longer able to stand. To fill the time, he even read Dr. Seusss Green Eggs and Ham. His filibuster, and the government shutdown over Obamacare it sparked, launched Cruz into the political stratosphere inspiring conservatives eager for a principled fighter who does not back down.
But while the shutdown may have helped boost Cruz into the top tier of Republican presidential contenders, it had zero impact on undermining Obamacare.
Rubio, by contrast, didnt read Dr. Seuss on the Senate floor, but he has quietly pushed Obamacare into what may prove to be a death spiral.

That article misses the real problem. The "risk corridor" payments wouldn't be necessary...

(31,106 posts)2. Pass it on, most people dont know why ACA struggles.
GOP hates the black president for the crime of being black and they have worked hard at making sure he would have no legacy.
Rubio is an idiotic tool of the white man.

if enough healthy people had signed up to offset the unhealthy people who did. Enough healthy people didn't
sign up simply because the penalties for not signing up were intentionally set too low in the ACA. Universal
health insurance requires healthy people to subsidize unhealthy ones.
