Trump administration tells EPA to cut climate page from website

Trump administration tells EPA to cut climate page from website
By Valerie Volcovici | WASHINGTON

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration has instructed the Environmental Protection Agency to remove the climate change page from its website, two agency employees told Reuters, the latest move by the newly minted leadership to erase ex-President Barack Obama's climate change initiatives.

The employees were notified by EPA officials on Tuesday that the administration had instructed EPA's communications team to remove the website's climate change page, which contains links to scientific global warming research, as well as detailed data on emissions. The page could go down as early as Wednesday, the sources said.

"If the website goes dark, years of work we have done on climate change will disappear," one of the EPA staffers told Reuters, who added some employees were scrambling to save some of the information housed on the website, or convince the Trump administration to preserve parts of it.

The sources asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

A Trump administration official did not immediately respond to a request for comment

that someone is backing up everything that Trump is making them take down.

I am even more concerned that he has put a halt on anything being put up onto the Federal Registry.

Climate change IS happening
Our Earth is warming. Earth's average temperature has risen by 1.5°F over the past century, and is projected to rise another 0.5 to 8.6°F over the next hundred years. Small changes in the average temperature of the planet can translate to large and potentially dangerous shifts in climate and weather.
The evidence is clear. Rising global temperatures have been accompanied by changes in weather and climate. Many places have seen changes in rainfall, resulting in more floods, droughts, or intense rain, as well as more frequent and severe heat waves.
The planet's oceans and glaciers have also experienced some big changes – oceans are warming and becoming more acidic, ice caps are melting, and sea levels are rising. As these and other changes become more pronounced in the coming decades, they will likely present challenges to our society and our environment.

Humans are largely responsible for recent climate change
Over the past century, human activities have released large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The majority of greenhouse gases come from burning fossil fuels to produce energy, although deforestation, industrial processes, and some agricultural practices also emit gases into the atmosphere.

We can make a difference
You can take action. You can take steps at home, on the road, and in your office to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the risks associated with climate change. Many of these steps can save you money; some, such as walking or biking to work, can even improve your health! You can also get involved on a local or state level to support energy efficiency, clean energy programs, or other climate programs.

but the economics of the whole situation. The fossil fuel industry is a financial time bomb; it will only function if prices go up indefinitely, which is not possible. Counter intuitively, this administration's attempt to pump up the supply will only suppress prices and strain the system even more. If you want to counter all this, conserve energy, decrease your driving and purchase high milage vehicles or take mass transit.

Today it took me a search and two clicks to find this. It used to take two clicks. Will it be in existence tomorrow?

http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

When talking to skeptics and deniers, the most compelling argument I knows is based on the FACT that 97%+ of climate scientists agree climate change is occurring, man made, and terribly destructive. The above site has the proof.

The Rethugs say that 97% of scientists lie for promotion and grants. The people they portray corrupt have dedicated themselves to finding out about the truth of the physical universe, of beginning in their adolescence.

The above site gives the 97% figure.
