(37,549 posts)Let's not forget that two of our most "highly-respected" DUers had the white privilege of living in enclaves while they rained down their shit.

(65,703 posts). . .even if at Goldman Sachs, WHILE A PRIVATE CITIZEN, would lead to an administration that would not enforce the law is stupendously laughable.
And, i do think that Wall Street is too influential and gets away with too much, but because someone gave you money for a speech x years ago would result lax enforcement of established law is ridiculous. Yet, that was the sentiment. Ok, when the primaries were on, the populist vs. corporatist thing was inevitable. But, to not see what failure to support the democratic nominee would cause is an obvious blinding by one's own purity.
I'm with you, Ms.
we can do it

(10,173 posts)And you connecting that link as if HRC is somehow culpable because she gave speeches is the problem, because it completely ignores her record and her platform. That is a disgusting smear job.
That's what tunnel vision gets you - inane comparisons and illogical conclusions.
And now we have a real oligarchy, chock full of nihilists, about to control the levers of government, determined to destroy Obama's legacy and regardless of what they claimed in the confirmation hearings, despise the agencies they've been picked to head.
Yeah, *slow cap*..

Whine about the choice all you want, but that was the choice you had this time. "This place doesn't serve beef Wellington, so I am going to starve myself until they do"

(37,549 posts)Governance, as opposed to twittering your outrage, requires the middle.
We are the middle learning the proverb that before you walk, you crawl. But we pushed the fuck forward.
Do you feel safe with your purity?

(4,523 posts)It's stunning to me that the ones most focused on lock step party conformity and purity control are lecturing the "far left".

(34,845 posts)But going out of one's way to find negative things to promote about a fellow Democrat -that's a bridge too far, imo.
It shows a complete lack of understanding of the term 'teamwork'.

(53,342 posts)the move to right of center has alienated so many from the left and certainly doesn't endear them to anyone on the right. They'll still keep voting Republican no matter what.

(62,287 posts)They will learn or be obsoleted.
The far right is on the rise because of these fools.
As they privatize social security and medicare cuts happen, it will be noted who got us here. I will make sure they they know who they are and what they stand for (or don't stand for, since they stand for literally nothing).
As federal jobs are lost at an alarming rate, as local governance falls to shit and cronyism goes on the rise, I will note who is responsible. I will make sure that they know who they are and what kind of people they are.
On twitch there is a streamer named BCBobb, he's a rent seeker, he makes most of his money off of people toiling trying to pay their rent. He bashes people on SSI, anyone who gets welfare, anyone who doesn't make a lot of money. When half of his renters can't make their rent because of the cuts, because of the crashing economy, I will laugh in his face (I have only lurked on his channel to see the mindset of these idiots that have elected Trump). BTW, while ignoring the inauguration today I'll be tuned into his channel, recording his glee and spite and hate for all that is actually good.
They have proudly taken on the name "deplorable." I will make sure that they know that the things that are happening because of far ultra right policies are due directly to these people.
They called for Obamacare to be repealed for years from the left and right respectively. It has and will happen. Thousands will die of it. Many don't deserve it. But the right who bemoans it happening will and I will, like they did for a decade when literally nothing happened, point out what is happening and why it's happening.
The difference being that when Obama offered a compromise he was trying to help people. CCPI for a poverty exception? Count me in, my mom is in poverty, she would've benefited as would have 6 million seniors.
The difference being that the ultra right does not want to help people, and people who have needed the help because of the wealth disparity didn't acknowledge where it was actually coming from. The moderates who got the exclusions, the people who managed to carefully handle the sequester without that many jobs being lost, the people who tried to stop the ultra right nationalist control from fucking them.
