Not sure what the humidity is, but even in the worst of summer it's not bad unless the wind isn't blowing. THEN the humidity sucks. Thankfully, I'm about 1/2 mile from Tampa Bay (about 8 to the gulf), so always get really good breezes. Granted, I've lived in the South my whole life so am used to it, but even after living in Seattle for 13ish years, the humidity doesn't bother me.

One and a half miles from the bay and five and a half from the gulf where I currently sit. Too far from both.

it's so pretty outside. Have had the windows open all weekend...went out on the boat on Saturday. Aaah, while my friends 'up north' (NC and up) are freezing their tushies off, I sit here in shorts

In SE Texas today the high is supposed to be 78. It should be in the mid to low 60's.

Last week, 2 brutal cold days. On Sunday, the low was 19. On Monday the high was 72.

One day in 2006, the low was 23 and the high was 69.

I just walked around it the other day. There's some ice on the edges, but it looked paper-thin and I couldn't see any ice in the centre.

I'd love it if the whole lake were to freeze over and we could skate on it! Has that ever happened?

Sometime between 1977 and 1982. Not sure what year. Grew up north of there on a lake. Froze solid, as did all the lakes in the area. And yep, we could ice skate.

I don't think it's quite cold enough this year.

Several of my friends went out to the NW side, where it was a bit shallower so there was a significant area that was solid ice, and went skating before the police came by to chase everyone off.
Later that year, we had a major problem with the old 1890's/1900's storm drains in the area collapsing.
Most of the reservoirs froze, also.

All I know is that I was likely in elementary or perhaps barely middle school. It was lots of fun to skate on a lake that we usually canoed on or swam in.

It probably wasn't much fun for my parents though.

On edit: I went to high school in Anchorage. Going up to big lake in the winter time was a trip- folks drove big vehicles across the ice. There were huge cracks across the lake.

Saw a police van and a fire truck. The police said they can't stop people from walking on the ice, but there will be help pulling them out if they fall in. It's beautiful, as always.
