call paul ryan's office

TAKE ACTION!

Easy way to oppose Paul Ryan's proposal to eliminate the Affordable Care Act. (Please know that we, the citizens, will pay for this one way or the other. It needs fixed but not eliminated) This takes only a few minutes of your time to express your viewpoint.

I just called. You can skip all of the propaganda by pushing the buttons in the proper sequence. Or, you can listen to hear how they're selling this as a good thing.

Paul Ryan's office is conducting a phone poll, hoping to hear overwhelming opposition to the Affordable Care Act. Here's how you can participate:

Call (202) 225-0600....

Press 2 to weigh in on the issue. You'll hear a recording about the bill to repeal it, then Press 1 to support continuing the Affordable Healthcare Act. It takes less than 2 minutes!

Copy, paste, pass it on!! Done! If you can't get through that should energize you to keep trying because it means lots of fellow citizens are expressing their opinion too!

ACTION needed re: ACA - there may be a vote TOMORROW

Please send the following email ASAP to the list of Senators and Congresspeople below - or call their offices in the morning TOMORROW. Feel free to edit the wording in any way you see fit - in fact it's encouraged. But please no "CAPS" and no foul language or accusations or nastiness - it won't help!. Be sure to address it to "The Honorable ....." and sign it. (yea, I know calling some of them "Honorable" could make you hurl)

Thanks in advance for whatever you can do. I appreciate your help.

THE LIST:

Your two Senators in Washington (find them at senate.gov)
Charles Schumer, Minority Leader (senate.gov)
Mitch McConnell, Majority Leader (may need to call)
Your local Representative in Congress (congress.gov)
Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader (may need to call)
Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House (may need to call)

___ SAMPLE MESSAGE

I understand that in 2017 there may be an attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act in one or both houses of Congress or by Executive Order. I am writing to you to urge you to vote NO on any attempt and to fight any attempt to to repeal the ACA on that day or any other day.

With such a repeal, millions of people would stand to lose access to medical care at the very time that it is needed most. In my opinion, such loss would return the system of medical care to a point when insurance companies controlled access to care - an unacceptable system that was largely responsible for increases in costs before ACA was implemented and which also was largely responsible for the loss of millions of lives and livelihoods due to lack of health care and/or inability to pay the enormous costs. At least 20 million Americans stand to loose coverage if the law is repealed.

Please vote NO if repeal of the ACA comes up for a vote on the floor and please discourage POTUS Trump from signing any order repealing the law. I understand that the ACA needs some changes or "tweaks" to make it more effective, but a complete repeal of the law is not the answer.

Best Regards,

___

Thanx for providing this number.

It's typical that the name of their repeal bill begins with the word "restoring", the opposite of what it does.

Everyone here should make this easy call. His voicemail isn't accepting comments though.
