A defiant couple disrupted a Delta flight Wednesday evening soon after it left the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for Los Angeles, and the upheaval sent the airliner back to MSP, where the man and woman were led off by police as fellow passengers jeered them.
Flight 2565 left about 6:20 p.m. only to show up back at the Twin Cities airport at 7:35 p.m., said MSP spokesman Patrick Hogan.
Delta spokesman Ashton Morrow added that the couple became aggressive and created a disruption in the cabin.
Neither spokesman was able to reveal what got the man and woman riled up in the first place, but a passenger who shot video of the episode said the woman wanted to use the bathroom but was being ordered back to her seat.

(81,870 posts)It's annoying when you have to go to the bathroom and the flight attendants don't allow it. I'm not saying they're wrong to disallow it and the passenger should wait a few more minutes. It's even more annoying when the flight attendants are walking around while telling people to sit down.

(4,742 posts)I have flown ad nauseum for 17 years due to work. First off it is both FAA and most airline's policy that you stay seated until the seatbelt sign is off. You encounter most turbulence while ascending and descending moving through various layers of winds/gusts at different altitudes. Turbulence can come and go without any warning.
You know it only takes one idiot to hit the ceiling and then sue the airline for $100 million. Plus during reviews I know for a fact that a flight attendant can be suspended or even fired for not trying to enforce the rules and policies.
A. If you don't like the policies...then don't fly. B. Try to keep in mind more than just yourself.

(141 posts)Probably more 7k pounds of fuel wasted. Good thing it was a short flight, so I highly doubt they would have dumped any fuel.
