The republicans were relieved that events caused it to go away. There is no sentiment by anyone in power for putting it back up.

In a poll early in the election cycle only a little over 20% wanted it back up and only 8% said its removal was a factor in deciding how they would vote.

clearly, Trump has very little interest in the UN, but Haley's still going to have to be running around offering apologies to various neighbors and allies when Trump and his Blackwater Buddies do something outrageously stupid and/or offensive.

i'd expect the UN members will generally treat her politely and perhaps even sympathetically at times, but working for Trump she's going to be at a disadvantage with countries not named "Russia".
