Every other name floated has scared the crap out of me. While I disagree with Romney on most things, I do not question his integrity. I really think he wants to do what he thinks is right despite being woefully out of touch. Better him than Bolton or the NY vampire.

Basically, under Trump, I don't want to die in a nuclear holocaust. Romney ups the odds considerably over those other choices. He'll be an errand-boy for a child monster all the same, but at least he's an adult.

I truly would not have been completely surprised had David Duke been named.

Romney is not unhinged and insane ... I don't agree with the man on many (most issues) ... but he is not a straightup lunatic

Romney as Secretary of State? Could be a lot worse, as in all the other names that have been floated would be a lot worse. Romney is credible and will look positively brilliant compared to Boris Johnson, for example. I’ll take almost anybody who keeps John Bolton away from the position.

Trump realized that his only chance to win was to get deep into the mud. Trump did just that and he was in pig heaven.

I often wonder if Trump actually expected to win but now that he has, he is beginning to realize that he needs all the help he can get. If he actually surrounds himself with some good people and listens to their advice he might actually work out to be an acceptable president.

The question is with an ego as big as Trump's can he keep it under control? If not he will definitely turn out to be the worst American president in modern history if not the worst ever.
