After the Election

Someone will have to clean up the media - tabloid as in unsubstantiated unscientific bullshit with nothing associated with knowledge is now cited by so called journalists, producers, etc. Ratings and profit supersede everything else.
Anything for money - money is the only religion in America.

The silence from renowned academics is deafening.

Everything is a lil tarnished and compromised by money influence.Keep in mind that Media is an ecosystem, consisting of different entities, along a wide spectrum - including fringe media, and profit sustains this system. Fox speaks to its target niche, MSNBC its target niche, CNN etc etc etc. It means audiences live in their own bubble/prism of reality, and their beliefs rarely challenged. And these News Corps know how to fill up the 24/7 news cycle with research people and pollsters and pundits whose job is to tell us what to think- and many of us are none the wiser because we don't know how our government works. Unfortunately the media won't change if its profit model works - but we are not hopeless in this fight.

It is up to us to participate in our democracy, and when we do that, there will be a domino effect. We can start with reading more, understanding our History, understanding different perspectives out there - instead of so easily demonizing others. Even delve a bit into economic theory. We need to engage with people who disagree with us more, and do so respectfully. This process ensures we develop our own view of the world, separate and apart from the rhetoric by a Pundit or Politician. We can then stand our ground and not be so easily swayed by nonsense. We have to demand better of ourselves and our leaders.

Well said but remember, the media still presented BS to the American people from crap sources.
