(40,416 posts)It brings back memories of the 68 World Series when my beloved Tigers won, also after being down 3-1.
That was Al Kaline's last season. He held court in right field for years, and no opponent dared to tag up at third on a fly ball deep to right while he was there. He threw more than a few strikes from that right field wall. If you tried to tag, you would be out with an umpire's double pumper, especially if Bill Freehan was at the plate.
But last night was the second best seventh game I ever watched.

(3,991 posts)For a true sports fan, every sport is interesting. As a kid, I would watch pro bowlers tour and golf and find it just as engaging and engrossing as the 3 biggies. I don't get people who view scoring as the goal, and the more scoring, the better. So not the point. Once you can appreciate the drama of a scoreless soccer game, or a 4 hour baseball game, then you'll truly appreciate what sports are really about.
