Post your favorite trump lie here:

Trump says: "The number of police officers killed in the line of duty has risen by almost 50 percent compared to this point last year."

In fact: This statistic apparently comes from an outdated, poorly worded USA Today headline. But according to the Officer Down Memorial Page, on-duty deaths of police officers are actually down 1 percent in 2016 compared to the same point in 2015. If this trend continues throughout the year, 2016 will be near a historic low for on-duty deaths. (This site tracks total deaths, not just killings, but there's no on-duty death tracker with 2016 data that solely tracks killings.)

It’s possible Trump is referring to the fact that on-duty deaths specifically from gunfire are up by 84 percent over the past year — which adds up to 31 on-duty deaths by gunfire so far this year.

I wish she'd tax the shit out of billionaires!

Trump Lie: While Hillary Clinton plans a massive tax increase, I have proposed the largest tax reduction of any candidate who has declared for the presidential race this year – Democrat or Republican. Middle-income Americans will experience profound relief, and taxes will be simplified for everyone.

Fact: Moody’s Analytics report: Donald Trump’s tax plan would mostly benefit those at the very top of the income distribution, and job losses resulting from his economic policies would most affect lower- and middle-income households. [Moody’s Analytics report, 6/20/16]

''But here, at our convention, there will be no lies. We will honor the American people with the truth, and nothing else.''

somebody has to do something with that line, from the man who received the liar of the year award.

why would he have to preface his speech with such a caveat? think of the implication: is he accepting there the fact that he's such an inveterate, compulsive liar that he has to assure his audience that, this time, he's NOT GOING TO LIE? has anyone seen any analysis on this point? it's very telling when someone has to start out a 70+ minute harangue with the promise that there aren't going to be any lies.

the whole thing sounded like that ad one constantly sees for the copper cookware===>supposed to be the best thing ever, but when you read an actual review, you find that it's just overpriced, low grade crap. surprised?

They're bald faced lies. We know they're lies. They know they're lies. They know we know they're lies. We know they know they're lies. Then they demand that we spend time arguing with them about their thesis that those lies are 'true'.

Only mass media allowing them to have 'fair, equal time', to defend their 'viewpoint', 'there's two sides to every story', allows them to get away with this nazi b.s. Any honest media would just say 'dRumpf is lying, again. End of story.'

Fri Jul 29, 2016, 09:49 PM
Jul 2016

He was involved with Rick Santelli's 'spur of the moment' tea-party launch:

"Within hours of Santelli’s rant, a website called ChicagoTeaParty.com sprang to life. Essentially inactive until that day, it now featured a YouTube video of Santelli’s “tea party” rant and billed itself as the official home of the Chicago Tea Party. The domain was registered in August, 2008 by Zack Christenson, a dweeby Twitter Republican and producer for a popular Chicago rightwing radio host Milt Rosenberg—a familiar name to Obama campaign people. Last August, Rosenberg, who looks like Martin Short’s Irving Cohen character, caused an outcry when he interviewed Stanley Kurtz, the conservative writer who first “exposed” a personal link between Obama and former Weather Undergound leader Bill Ayers. As a result of Rosenberg’s radio interview, the Ayers story was given a major push through the Republican media echo chamber, culminating in Sarah Palin’s accusation that Obama was “palling around with terrorists.” That Rosenberg’s producer owns the “chicagoteaparty.com” site is already weird—but what’s even stranger is that he first bought the domain last August, right around the time of Rosenburg’s launch of the “Obama is a terrorist” campaign. It’s as if they held this “Chicago tea party” campaign in reserve, like a sleeper-site. Which is exactly what it was."

my favorite among these, because of its relevance:

Nov. 11, 2015: Implying China was part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership

When asked about the pending trade deal with 12 Pacific Rim nations at a Republican primary debate in Milwaukee, Trump took to bashing China.

"The TPP is horrible deal," Trump said. "It's a deal that was designed for China to come in, as they always do, through the back door and totally take advantage of everyone." (For the record, Trump got a Pants on Fire for this claim.)

"You know, we might want to point out that China’s not part of this deal," quipped former rival Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. But a day later, Trump denied suggesting China was a signatory.
