Hoo Ha!!!! The GOP's 2016 platform is loonier than ever!!!!

The Republican Party has always been against things. In Lincoln's day, it was slavery; for the last seven years, it's been a functioning federal government. But the Republican Party Platform, rewritten every four years before the party convention, is where things really run wild. That's especially true this year, as presumptive nominee Donald J. Trump has stepped back to let the Ted Cruz-esque purists have their fun with the party's official statement of principles. What follows is a list, likely non-comprehensive, of the things the GOP has declared itself against so far.

The rest of the article is mostly tweets from correspondents watching the GOP platform committee at work (A brave bunch!!!).

It seems the GOP is against everything from gay marriage to prairie chickens to porn and gay wolves (or was that grey wolves?

).

Edited to Add: But they are in favor of "clean coal"!!! It seems 'the voice of the turtle' is still being heard in GOP land!

This is the culmination of the GOP courting the crazy and fundamentalist Christian far right wing of the party. Even the less crazy participants of the party are being shot down. Really, they are making prairie dogs a part of the platform?! I can't even imagine what the platform will be like when the Trump wing of the party even forces out the 'moderate' (read: not 100% bat shit crazy) tea party-ers four years from now.
