(4,762 posts)those folks thrive on negative attention from DU.
They set that site up to goad their "frenemies" here.
You're taking the bait. And giving them oxygen. Let them curse and moan in the darkness. There are all of about 20 regular participants there.

(3,018 posts)kk, here we go.
Is that a RWNJ website or are you just a SJW's?
Assuming my translation is correct, SC is wondering why Trumad is getting offended over people using these words.
I suppose he could have intended SJW to be referring to JPR, but given their stance on some words that wouldn't really fit.

(30,481 posts)JPR is that last warm mouthful that takes a little effort to get down.
Seriously. This place is pretty welcoming and the rules allow for a lot of flexibility. That place is the backwash of DU. Considering how big of a tent we are here that alone says a lot.

(4,311 posts)The monster 1000+ post thread was really enough. We got all our residual anger about the primaries out (against former DUers who turned out to be Trump trolls or otherwise non-Democrats) and now it's time to move on. They are a tiny fringe site and the more attention we pay them, the more they will grow and the more audience their hateful rhetoric will have.
It's time to move on.
I think that's the first time I've ever agreed with you.

(90,061 posts)I see a lot of posters there, it used to be a lot smaller crew. I mean I'm obsessed and post things daily here, generally that seems to be considered a good thing, to have such posters, as long as they aren't one trick ponies who always post about the same thing.
You will get pegged as a shill if you do that anyway.
If they are obsessed with DU, that is a mistake, a defect, and I recommend that we not copy it by obsessing about them or any other sites either.
Chathamization
(1,638 posts)matches that used to suck up so much air here, so they're now posting links from other sites hoping to continue them.

(14,274 posts)Upset that these folks broadcast their intent to disrupt DU. Upset that these folks are still free to shower us with their special brand of "criticism". Upset that these people still sit on juries here. Upset that long time trolls have tried to trash, bash and undermine our candidates while off in the distance they are pulling for Trump and doing their best to depress turnout for Clinton.
I would prefer we not send traffic their way, but I do appreciate the eye opening some of these threads have provided.

(44,272 posts)Clear that those posters were supporting a fantasy Bernie, and don't give a shit about Bernie's positions. Otherwise they wouldn't be throwing Bernie under the bus. Some of them argue voting for Trump, and that is totally against everything Senator Sanders has ever stood for.
I do agree, time for DU to let go.
cyberswede
(26,117 posts)...and am confounded by it. Did people actually support Sanders' positions, or did they just like that he was sticking it to the establishment candidate? I see no possible way people who actually support Sanders' positions could ever support Trump.

(65,616 posts)Sanders supporters would never switch their vote to Trump, that would defeat the purpose of a Sanders run for POTUS imo.

(20,317 posts)I had to look up this 'jpr', but now that I have, it seems like it's basically just filled with former DUers, who were either banned from DU or driven off via harassment from Hillary supporters who refuse to let go of primary season vitriol. I remember that rather gross 'X more days' garbage-- well, they're gone. Now grow up.

(13,081 posts)1. Lots of awesome DUers went there.
2. As long as the subject isn't a Clinton, there is some intelligent conversation going on. Of course, when the subject IS a Clinton, every bit of paranoia, propaganda, and hyperbole possible fills the screen. I'm probably never going to be a giant Hillary fan, but TRUMP? Are they fucking serious? That's not crazy, that's just dumb.
3. It's not completely overrun with racist trolls, which is what DU has felt like lately. I won't name names -- I try not to break the rules -- but goddamn if the thinly-veiled right wingers aren't driving me nuts. I should probably just put them on ignore for my psychological health.

I agree DU should move on.

Painting them as freepers, as some have, is a bad move.

And in general, board wars are wretched.

(44,272 posts)There are solid progressive posters there. There are a handfull of posters who praise republicans and seem not to care about progressive causes, but that's a problem for members their to address and resolve (I.E. Not for DU'ers)

They are too busy driving, and don't care what's going on across the river where you are standing, they just want to be on their way. AS for me, I don't mind crossing the river and mingling with the crowds over there, its always interesting what happens in the town square.

Funniest episode of the season.
HBOs Veep Breaks a Huge Language Taboo, Using the C Word For Real
Tonights episode of Veep is officially called Cgate. Apparently the word is used quite liberally in the episode.
Outside of the N word, I cant think of anything other than the C word which is completely verboten everywhere. Even the f- word finds its way into some mainstream things, and shit so do some others.
But HBO and JDL are going for it. Ill watch at 10:30 and well see how they do this. Veep is the best comedy on TV outside of Fox and Friends. And the latter is unintentionally a hoot...
