Just reporting that he has slashed Medicaid for kids/whomever, has smiled and smiled about closing as many Choice clinics as possible, has SUED "OBAMA" and the national government scores of times, SLASHED the top limit *OTHER* people can sue for in dollar amounts while *HE* reaped a couple of twenty millions over *HIS* disability.
I'm not superstitious, am a Secular Humanist. Although am wondering about "karma" ...

Texas governor burned in accident; could miss GOP convention
DALLAS Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas sustained "extensive second- and third-degree burns" on both legs below the knees and both feet and may miss next week's Republican National Convention as a result, his office said Sunday.
Spokesman Matt Hirsch said Abbott was with his family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Thursday when he was scalded in an accident involving hot water. He declined to provide further details. ....

(34,140 posts)But will not be able to go to future events such as President Obama's visit to Dallas and the GOP Convention. At the very beginning, they can give lots of pain relief and wrap the burns to protect them. Later when the damaged skin starts to slough off and they have to debride the areas daily the risk of infection is far too high.
I've had third degree burns. My sympathies to the governor and I hope he recovers - even if he is a jerk.

(70,793 posts)I'm on the shock-line, not the elevated plane. I don't wish ill but sit on the riverbank.
I'm just asking: Did this man feel compassion for:
* the kids whose Medicaid he slashed?
* the persons who suffered disabilities like his, whom he later capped from suing for the millions that he got for himself?
* the underprivileged women who needed the clinics he helped to close?
* the underprivileged of whatever category against whom he sued the Feds to keep from serving?
* the minorities he has slighted and insulted while pandering to racists?
Repeating, I didn't wish things on him. And also I'm not wishing anything *for* him. He is what he is.

(70,793 posts)He was in Wyoming, whatever happened happened, then Dallas news broke and he HEROICALLY went to the public event in Dallas, but then might not be able to go to the DRUMPF event.
So some of us cynics suspect he wants to avoid DRUMPF. Well, even more cynically plausible, if he wants to avoid ANYBODY it's President OBAMA, whom he has derided and sued at every turn.
I mean, this dude hangs out with Ted NUGENT, so DRUMPF is not exactly lowering ABBOTT's bar on freedom of association...

.... The governor was treated for several hours at nearby St. John's Medical Center. As he was being released, a top aide called from Texas to say a gunman had opened fire in downtown Dallas an attack that killed five police officers and wounded seven others.
"His first words to us were, 'I've got to come back,'" Hirsch said.
Abbott held a press conference in Dallas on Friday, but didn't disclose being burned. Hirsch said that his legs were wrapped at the time, but that wasn't evident since they were covered by his pants. ....

(70,793 posts)Although I will defend myself to the extent of repeating for the 3rd or so time that you will not find any "wishing" bad stuff on the fellow. I did, however, and always will, raise a current news item and point out the subject's history of behavior toward other humans, the effects of his policies, etc. No apologies.
