He looks like he belongs on a FLDS compound, but he speaks like a black preacher.
And he sure does like the microphone, and is now going to take questions. Huh?

I've never heard of "taking questions" at a prayer meeting...even before the others got to speak!

He may think of himself as "important" because he thinks of himself as "responsible" for what happened.
I did not see what you saw. and I don't have handy a link to the news article I read this morning. But maybe that puts it in context.

(3,212 posts)addresses a predominantly black audience - a slightly difference cadence and manner of speaking. Not all black preachers speak in such a fashion, but it's pretty common.
It was just a bit jarring coming from this guy. I may have misjudged him, but the black guy who immediately interrupted him seemed to agree that he was "hogging" the microphone.
