Fox News Shuts Down Comments On Malia Obama Post When They Realize How Racist Their Readers Are

Fox News reported that President Obama’s daughter, Malia, had elected to attend Harvard University after taking a year off from school. It seemed an innocuous enough story, but readers of Fox News proved nothing is off-limits when attacking a black president, his wife, and his children.
Fox News was forced to close the comment section when their readers began displaying their horrific racism for all the world to see. Addicting Info, however, caught screenshots.

Intelligence means one is more rational and logical in their thinking, which precludes, most of the time, the repudiation of racism as something to embrace.

Not that there aren't some highly intelligent people who are racist. For example, many of the talk show hosts such as limbaugh. But then one wonders if they're truly racist or just pretending in order to get an audience and keep their jobs. Ratings racists.

The whole "there," "their," and "they're" thing. And the "its" versus "it's" thing. All that stuff. After all those years I spent in Catholic school spelling bees... I can't help but notice that idiocy. And it's all over the place! But this post in particular was really stunning. And did you know, that damn Malia is ridding on her parents' "coat tails" (hint, it's ONE word, not two)?

SHEESH. I totally blame Pox Noise and limbaugh and that whole rancid, fetid, disgraceful contingent. It used to be that the "weird old Uncle Harry" types who spouted this shit were laughed at and kept "locked up in the attic" (proverbially speaking) and only let out for Thanksgiving dinner to spew his idiot Bronze Age shit. It used to be that you kept that shit securely shut away in the closet, proverbially or otherwise. But the rise of entities like Pox Noise and hate radio began to bring that horrid Neanderthal crap out into the open, even proudly so, and gave it a voice.

And gave it a place.

And gave it legitimacy.

It was no longer something you didn't say or repeat in polite company or ANYWHERE out in the open. By now, it's been transmogrified into something to be out 'n' proud about.

They gave all of that a voice.

And a place.

And legitimacy.

As though it deserved to be heard and given "rights", and entitlements, and a place at the table.

As though it was something you shouldn't hide away in shame about, but be out there in the open about it, and PROUD of it. No longer do we snicker at weird old Uncle Harry, and shut him up or escort him out of the room and back up to the attic so he isn't spewing that shit around nice people or the neighbors or when company comes over. No longer do we usher him out of the room and apologize to everyone about how weird old Uncle Harry is just who he is and please nobody listen to him or pay attention to him and GOD KNOWS nobody should make him seriously. No Sirrrreeeee! NOW, you proudly escort him to the head of the table and everybody shuts up and lets him rant and spew, and allows him to rattle on without correcting him or challenging him or arguing with him - or Heaven forbid - telling him he's wrong or full of shit and to STFU - which is what the weird old Uncle Harrys of the world actually deserve. That shit should be actively discouraged and suppressed, NOT put on TV in prime time or anywhere else around the clock, and hundreds of radio stations all over the country and showered with big contracts and national prominence and riches beyond all imaginings!

They gave that shit a voice.

And a place.

And legitimacy.

roger ailes and lee atwater (at whose knee roger ailes and others learned all this shit) are completely to blame.

It's people like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and all the other hate promoters and white protectionist attitudes being broadcast on our air waves and the internet.

I understand why we have an amendment to free speech, but I think there should be limits on "hate speech" being spread on our TV and radio airwaves, or even on-line news programs.

We are allowing these sources to promote hate, racism, bigotry, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, religious zealotry, and sometimes even indirectly promote violence.

Why?

This country should be working together to end discrimination and hatred, yet we allow it to be broadcast freely into all homes every day, all day, through free TV and radio, and the internet.

Why?

I'm not saying all hate speech is equal. One person posting hatred on facebook and twitter is not the same as a TV news source promoting it, or a radio program like Rush Limbaugh, or Beck.

I just don't understand why we stand for this.

And now we even have a Presidential candidate promoting it.

But when it comes to actual facts...

"In his 2005 book The Chosen, Professor Jerome Karabel of the University of California at Berkeley has produced credible research showing that most minority students at Harvard, Princeton, and Yale come from high-income families. Karabel notes that the Big Three's preference for legacy admissions, both black and white, tends to limit economic diversity on campus.

Harvard's highly publicized new financial aid program, which eliminates loans for all students who come from families with incomes under $60,000, has produced only small gains in the number of low-income students at Harvard. The latest Pell Grant numbers from the U.S. Department of Education show that still less than one in 10 Harvard students comes from a low-income family"
...
."

Doesn't sound like anyone there knows a hell of a lot about food stamps, though they might have worked as an intern for the legal department one summer.

But there are others...

"Famed Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz ranks Sen. Ted Cruz among the school’s smartest students, adding that the Canada-born Texan can run for president in 2016.

Cruz was a “terrific student,” Dershowitz told The Daily Caller. “He was always very active in class, presenting a libertarian point of view. He didn’t strike me as a social conservative, more of a libertarian.”

“He had brilliant insights and he was clearly among the top students, as revealed by his class responses,” Dershowitz added.

Dershowitz also gave a high estimate of Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren — who has decidedly different political views than Cruz.

The most ironic thing is that African Americans have about one of the longest histories in this country. After the slave trade was outlawed in 1807 - for the most part, no more slaves from Africa - which means today's descendants of slaves (which I know not all African Americans are, but the vast majority are) have family history in this country and building this country for 2 centuries longer than all the idiots and scum telling them to come back where they came from.

Jul 2016

It's just some are criticizing what is blatant elitism and nepotism.

I'd still like to know....how many kids from very rich and powerful families does Harvard turn away?

The esteemed Yale political scientist Robert Dahl, writing in 1971, considered two characteristics fundamental to democratic governance: the ability of citizens to influence the outcome of elections, and the ability of citizens to run in them. It should be clear to all that a system in which the franchise is limited based on arbitrary characteristics, like the family a citizen is born into, is not democratic. The same is true in terms of participation: a system of government in which filial ties matter in terms of access to participating at the highest levels of government is distinctly undemocratic.

Unfortunately, the United States of America has a poor track record in this regard. Indeed, America has long had a culture of nepotism at the highest levels of society: political dynasties like the Adams, Tafts, Harrisons, Roosevelts, Kennedys, Bushs, and Clintons dot the annals of our history. To be sure, many of these individuals were highly qualified, but it must be noted that even if all of them were, being descended from those who held power previously gave a tangible boost to their careers. And if legacy gives a boost to some and not others, then the opportunity for participation at the highest levels is not equal for all.

http://harvardpolitics.com/harvard/democracys-dynasties-legacy-culture-nepotism/

In other words, even if Malia is smart. Even if she got great grades and test scores, she got them because the system provided her privilege and favoritism. She has endless resources that few outside the richest people have. If she was having any trouble at all in math, she'd have an endless line of tutors to provide personal attention. She's provided the best teachers and private schools. Not only that, but she had the secret service all around her. She never had to worry about bullies or be faced with the peer pressures, or the mistakes that everyone else struggles through in middle school and high school.

And it has nothing to do with her race. The same situation with Chelsea who went to Stanford. Or one of the Bush daughters (Barbara?) who went to Harvard. There is no question just being the child of someone very rich and/or powerful gives you a boost. It's ridiculous to pretend otherwise. There is a reason none of these kids are forced to go to community colleges or technical schools.

It's all why I'm really not fond at all of multiple people of the same family running for president or high offices. It makes me uncomfortable because it's creating a barrier of elitism whether we realize it or not. My belief, is we don't have enough new blood in government. There are too many of the same professions and too many people from only a handful of colleges. The gap between the elites and everyone else has never been this wide in our nation's history. And that's why most Americans now feel disconnected from their government. That's a serious problem for this nation's future.

61. "blatant elitism and nepotism" might apply if she weren't qualified, but she is.

She deserves her spot here and the people claiming otherwise are no better than the envious people over at Fox.

granted such people get a good education before college. But there are many more such people than Harvard could possibly take. Like any college, they don't want a high failure or drop out rate.

Grade Point Average? SATs? Scores? Averages? What's the difference! Malia obviously inherited enough intelligence from her parents to have been accepted anywhere. Nobody questioned the Bush girls' acceptances to major schools.

Of course the rest of your post is hilarious; "score of her GPA" certainly sounds like someone who likely never had a very high number!!
But then, idiots will be idiots. They should make commenters log in with FB & show their faces

"Oh, you're playing the racist card? Then you're the racist! Neener, neener. I'm rubber. You're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you."
