A raucous, loud, passionate affair.
True Democracy in action...both Clinton and Sanders supporters arguing, fighting, laughing and joking.
For the first time I witnessed a convention that truly epitomized the people's passion for change.
Usually the Democratic Convention in Texas is an occasion where the party elders come down to mix with the unwashed masses, fully expecting to have the establishment party line endorsed.
Didn't happen.
Democratic Party establishment in Texas got a clear message. No more business as usual.
On now to Philadelphia....
Right now I'm headed over to the Hyatt for some beverages of the adult variety

(3,859 posts)At every convention since I moved to Texas almost 30 years ago.
This one was electrifying. The unwashed stood up and said enough...
Every possible demographic stood up and demanded to be heard. And I really believe they were.
Youth stood up...and made their point...very respectfully but forcefully.
The press will try to make it a Clinton/Sanders divide but it really wasn't. This was old school Dem vs. New Dem.
More first time delegates than I've seen before.
Raw emotions...We have large Hispanic delegations...no wall getting built down here any time soon.

The Establishment took it on the nose. Hopefully our delegation can force progressive change.

(145,965 posts)The Sanders motions would have failed if delegate strenght voting was used. Hinojosa knew this and wanted to give the Sanders people a meaningless.victory
The super delegate resolution is torally mesningless. The DNC has to approve this plan and that is not going to happen.
