Corey Jones: Grand jury finds police officer's use of force unjustified, charges him
State Attorney Dave Aronberg announced Wednesday that former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja has been charged with manslaughter and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm in the shooting death of Corey Jones. Raja could face life in prison if convicted of the murder charge.
Aronberg said the grand jury found Raja's use of force to be unjustified.
The AT&T Roadside assistance operator recorded the entire encounter. It is horrifying what happened to Corey. He was a good young man. He didn't deserve to die like this. No-one deserves to die like this. I hope we hear less and less stories like this, but I fear we have just started to hear of them.
I hope Corey Jones will soon be able to Rest in Peace. And I hope his family will be able to seek the justice they have longed for over this past year.
