Just venting. Longing for the end of the primary.

(12,265 posts)I am not on here that much. I am glad to serve, and I try to be as fair as I can be, but it is wearing on me. I see things that make me pause that is for sure, on both sides really. I cannot wait for it to be over either.

(21,677 posts)About the 20th time i was sat for a reported post that basically said "I don't agree with Bernie/Hillary", I decided it wasn't worth wasting my time on anymore.

(82,849 posts)My own experience is that DU is getting a rash of jury-shopping alerts. Some posters seem to be getting stalked with multiple bogus alerts, in hopes that enough of the alerts will draw a hostile jury to get the poster temporarily locked out or even banned.

(22,065 posts)Your participation in the jury system helps keep DU an honest website. I concur with your view that it can be tiresome but the benefit of your thoughtfulness helps make this a better place.
In any event, vote a straight Democratic ticket on November 8th!

(9,116 posts)I too have been seeing a lot lately, and it's always the same soul-crushing shit from the same people. With mandatory vacations off the table, it's getting harder and harder to justify participating. I'd just as soon never read anything from GD: P again.

At 60% chance I'm currently maybe one every couple days, enough to see some of what's going on. I'll be back to 100% in a month or so (I was getting alerted a couple months ago on some things I at least didn't consider any worse than my usual), but likely by then much of this will have calmed down.
Skinner (61,725 posts): After the primaries on June 7 (California, New Jersey, etc.)...
...we will announce that the primaries are nearing an end, and members will have one more week to "get it out of their systems".
The final Democratic presidential primary is Tuesday, June 14 in Washington DC. People will have one last glorious day of primary season on June 15, and then Democratic Underground general election season begins on Thursday, June 16.

(16,334 posts)after 12 hides. I kept wondering how long it would take. I give points for tenacity though. I just don't have that kind of energy.

(18,318 posts)A few years ago when it was sport for some here to sandbag gun-owners with five hides. Everyone began to learn the game. Now, I am a star member with a 100% rating, and I get asked all the time to be on juries, including those involving the old sand baggers! No worries, I treat them better than I was treated.

(47,586 posts)I imagine if I was still a star member, it'd be more.
But don't worry. It'll all be over once the voting's over.

(15,235 posts)They will invade the General Discussion Forum, posing as transsexuals, angry atheist, etc. I vote that we repeatedly expose them to readers. Plenty of our past Opening Posts can be found with Google and other search engines, without using overly specific search criteria. Do you people realize that 3 or 4 thousand readers a day is interesting to groups like the RNC and online operatives of people like Trump?

Since April began it's at least 2 a day. Some I've had to decline. The Trolls may be there stirring the pot, but more often it is someone who should clearly know better by virtue of long membership.
