(11,175 posts)Trump has never filed for personal bankruptcy. Instead, there have been four bankruptcy filings of companies in which he was a principal. (I don't think one can even say "four companies" because I think one of them went into Chapter 11, came out, and then a few years later went in again.)
The biggest losers in these bankruptcies have been the investors who bought bonds to provide the capital with which Trump financed his acquisitions. My guess is that Trump, personally, is a net winner on his casino investments.

(65,616 posts)I can only imagine what his debt to creditors really might be, THAT is the question. Sure, he is 'worth' 4.1 billion in assets (not the same thing as cash on hand) but what are his liabilities, what kind of debt is he in?
Tick tock...someone is going to expose all that. Cannot wait.

(51,129 posts)Won't it be hilarious if he has borrowed an extra billion over assets on the value of his brand!

(22,904 posts)He seems to regard bankruptcy as some sort of security blanket-- he's been there so many times before.
I love this:
"If Trump had just put his father's money in a mutual fund that tracked the S&P 500 and spent his career
finger-painting, he'd have 8 billion" (instead of only 2.9 billion)
What an idiot

(58,765 posts)I thought he was loaning that money to his campaign from his own holdings, thus "self financing" his campaign.
Is he finally coming full circle and suing himself?

What's this, his 4th time filing for bankruptcy?

(10,437 posts).....but you know...this could actually turn out true...RNC is in trouble...and trump is asking for them to bailout his "self-funded" campaign
L. Coyote
(51,129 posts)Trump's broke-ass campaign is relying on the Republican National Committee to do the actual work of electing him president. With the Bush and Romney money sitting on the sidelines, the RNC is not sitting on nearly enough cash to do the job: ............
One reason the Rs don't have a good candidate is the electoral math. They know there is no path to victory in a presidential race unless something really unprecedented occurs. That left them with a bunch of candidates in it to enhance their egos, brands, or personal/political reputation and a couple of nut jobs.
Oh, and a demented egomaniac who says he is a billionaire.

(10,437 posts)no trump and a waste of their money. When Kochs bailed on supporting trump I suspect they bailed on supporting RNC too....many more rich conservatives around...but most just don't throw money away
trump really is the end of the GOP...deadparty walking
