Did anyone else think that Norah O'Donnell's interview of Valerie Jarrett on tonight's 60 Minutes was a complete hatchet job? O'Donnell sneered with contempt when asking why the President couldn't get the Republicans to cooperate with him. She basically implied that Obama was responsible for all the problems in Washington because of his inability to reach across the aisle!! Her questions were vicious and so disrespectful! Ugh! This is journalism???

(45 posts)i agree, my husband and I were both groaning. It was incredibly insulting. I'll bet 60 minutes gets a ton of letters complaining about that interview.

(45 posts)it wasn't an interview, it reminded me of a nosy neighbor prying for information about someone they don't like.

(1,329 posts)I wish Jarrett had told O'Donnell that the repugnantcans were derelict in
their duty in deciding that the President is to have NO help from any of them.
For O'Donnell to say repugnantcans wouldn't attend a state dinner because
they didn't feel welcome?!? Wish Jarrett had brought up Bitch O'Connell
speaking on tape that his one job was to make President Obama a one term
president. Now we see Media's meme-nothing was done in Congress because
Obama wasn't obsequious enough.

(8,438 posts)I didn't see the interview but this guy reported on it earlier:
Obama advisor Valerie Jarret assertively stopped Norah ODonnell from promoting the false narrative of blaming Obama for GOPs refusal to work with him on a recent 60 Minute segment. Obama surrogates should have taken lessons from this woman.
The segment started with Norah ODonnell pointing out the reality that the appointment of Judge Merrick Garland may be the last Obama/GOP fight.
Valerie, this is probably one of the last big fights of the presidents term in office. And he cant even get Senate Republicans to give him a hearing, ODonnell said condescendingly. Most Republicans wont even meet with Judge Garland. Does that say something about President Obamas inability to reach across the aisle? To have friends on the other side?
Valerie Jarrett was ready for the question.
Absolutely not. I dont think this is about friendship. This is about politics, Jarrett said. I think the Republicans have made the political determination that in this election year, in this very toxic election year, I would add, that its in their political advantage not to do so.
ODonnell then tried to clamp down on the false narrative about an insular President, who has not reached out to Republicans.
But in two terms, seven years, why hasnt the president been able to find a Republican that he can call up and say, Help me out on this? Does he have any Republican friends? ODonnell asked.

(20,025 posts)After yelling at her a few times that no, it's not about Obama but about a party of racists trying to cause the first black President to fail so there won't be another one.
Either a hatchet job or Norah is totally clueless about politics. In either case, Norah needs to find a new job.

(9,999 posts)And that is what they were - partisan insinuations. And she just would not stop driving her biased perspective.
She's obviously a Republican hack doing a hatchet job.
O'Donnell is even more biased and right-wing than the totally jaundiced Republican hack Lara Logan.
MorLEY Safer is dead, and CBS has jumped the journalistic shark.
SHAME. TOTAL SHAME.

(46,436 posts)Nora is being horribly rude. I hated the way she kept talking over her in the first part of the interview, and then her comment, "Oh, come on," at one point. I don't even remember the question, but to exclaim "oh, come on" after Ms. Jarrett's response, as if to say, "you're lying" - I would have had to stifle the urge to smack her face.
