Nothing reveals how vile the NRA is as the fact that filthy Ted Nugent is still on their board

Nothing says responsible gun ownership like filthy Ted posting videos of people he doesn't like being bloodied blown away, right?

<snip>

National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent, who will deliver a speech at the NRA’s annual meeting this month, shared a fake video that depicts Hillary Clinton being graphically murdered by Bernie Sanders with a handgun during a presidential debate.

In a May 10 post on his Facebook page, Nugent shared a video with the descriptions “Bernie Sanders destroys Hillary Clinton in debate on Vermont gun laws” and “Bernie Sanders absolutely killed Hillary over this issue.”
The video takes footage from a recent debate between Clinton and Sanders, but it’s manipulated to show Sanders shooting Clinton in the chest – complete with an animated blood spurt.

<snip>

Nugent is, however, a board member of the NRA – a group Senate Republicans believe should have veto power over Supreme Court nominees – and he remains a prominent partisan activist in right-wing circles. Indeed, let’s not forget that in 2012, Mitt Romney actively sought, and eventually earned, Nugent’s personal endorsement after a private discussion between the two men.

Democrats should work to make filthy Ted the face of the NRA. He's been their celebrity spokesman for 20 years, as this Salon article points out. Time for the dem establishment and gun control groups as well as others to make this uncomfortable for the NRA fuckwads.

<snip>

It’s an odd choice for the NRA to align themselves with Nugent so strongly. After all, the organization’s has long defended its opposition to gun control by invoking the idea of the “responsible gun owner”: The sober-minded man (or woman) who has no interest in violence or dominance, but only uses a gun for sports or self-defense.

<snip>

Back in February, Nugent got national attention for posting a meme that unsubtly suggests that gun control is a Jewish plot to take over America. After he was criticized for this, he posted a picture of Nazis rounding Jews up during the Holocaust, where he blamed the victims for not defending themselves with firearms.

In response, the NRA lamely told the Washington Post that “individual board members do not speak for the NRA.” As if they’re helpless and forced to continue to put him in leadership positions and use him as a spokesman on the road and at conventions.

This isn’t even the first time that Nugent has publicly fantasized about killing Hillary Clinton. In 2007, Nugent was filmed ranting onstage about wishing violent death on both Clinton and Barack Obama.

“Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun,” he raged, while waving two machine guns.

“Hey Hillary,” he added. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.”

...calling for the death of President Obama and Hillary is akin to shouting fire in a crowded theater - worse, in fact. Mr. Nugent should be prosecuted.

...and it would look awful. If a non-celebrity waved a gun around and said the same thing, different story... people say the most outrageous things...

but, importantly & more to your point: The NRA implicitly approves, by keeping Nugent.
