(81,899 posts)Gingrich would be a terrible choice for Trump. He needs someone with a little more self control.

(81,899 posts)Unity wise Rubio would be good. He's also a good debater. But he's really not that into hard work. Not sure if the voters care. On the other hand, the VP doesn't have all that much to do.

They need: <1, "less than one" for Walker's tally.

MADem
(135,425 posts)Thing is, he doesn't want anyone who is more personable than himself (not that he's a charmer, but he has a LARGE personality). Gingrich is as pompous an ass as he is. Palin is too large for life and goes off script routinely. Huckabee is probably the best one in terms of his avuncular nature, but the danger is that the VP would be more popular than the P-candidate.
Jindal is a good pick because a) He won't outshine the boss, b) He's inoculation against the "TRUMP, YOU RACIST FUCK" charges (See? See? I picked the little brown one!!!) I guess I have to say because we've got way too many irony-impaired here, nowadays....
Christie is in the Cheney seat, but I doubt history will repeat--Christie's loyalty will earn him a promise that he'll be the AG (though he'll work hard for naught).
What a motley crew!

Susana Martinez not interested in being Trump's VP
By Harper Neidig
New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez has no interest in being presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trumps running mate, the Weekly Standard reported Thursday.
"The Governor has said repeatedly over the years that she isnt interested in serving as Vice President. She appreciates that such attention puts New Mexico in the spotlight, but she is fully committed to serving the people of our state," said Chris Sanchez, a spokesman for Martinez.

(11,369 posts)... they mix up the > and < symbols. The first is "greater than"; the second is "less than".

It's easy. Since third grade the < looks like an L for less than. Sheesh.

(10 posts)Rick Scott (Trump will need Florida)
Jon Huntsman (this pick will solve his problem with Mormons)
Jodi Ernest (Iowa is important)
John Kasich (Ohio is a must win for Republicans).
Possibly a military guy (Republicans like to pretend they're the party that cares about the military). Too bad General Petraeus was caught in a sex scandal.

If it all hadn't happened, I suspect he would have been the nominee this year and Hillary would have been in a world of hurt.

(18,115 posts)You have to remember, trumps all brand focused.
TRUMP-ERNST, fits his idea of his brand better than the others. He doesn't think, care about, or understand political considerations. But Ernst fits the bill regardless. She's military, Iowa, conservative, faux rabble-rouser and a woman. Trump would keep his misogynist attacks up on Hillary and then say "I love women, I'm running with a woman, look, she's the best kind of woman."

He's shrewd, he'll pick a middle aged woman with some legislative experience.
Probably from a minority, Black or Latina.
