The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a list that includes 358 products under 42 different brands sold at grocery stores including Safeway, Trader Joes and Costco. The products may be contaminated with deadly Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The frozen fruits and vegetables on the list were sold in all 50 states and parts of Canada.
Snip.
The items were packaged by CRF Frozen Foods in Washington state. The company issued voluntary recall in April and suspended operations at its plant in Pasco. On May 4, CRF expanded the recall to include all of its organic fruits and vegetables.

(6,409 posts)Evidently, they did a computer search for people who bought frozen vegetables. Whatever it was, we already ate it.

(34,139 posts)With no adverse effects. I'm not sure if it was the organic green beans or the organic broccoli - or both - that they were calling about but it's been months since we finished the last of the bags.

(6,929 posts)I have a package of one of the recalled products in my freezer. I will have to take it back to Costco.

(15,813 posts)I went to Costco just after it opened yesterday. I had to return two items plus one bag of frozen corn. Everyone behind me in line was returning at least one frozen item. The customer service rep said that by noon on Friday their entire return area was filled with frozen veggies.
I wonder what Costco does with them? Throw them away? Compost?

(16,184 posts)While we have people screaming bloody murder about "Monsanto", organic food is routinely being recalled with e coli and listeria.
