Here's a question. Once we have s nominee, what do you plan to do with your ignore list?
I think I'll leave it unchanged, maybe even add to it. What about you? Let bygones be bygones and welcome the ignored back into your DU experience?

(58,785 posts)I'm up with what's going on with threads. Ignore a lot of actual posts by names I recognize, though, since so many threads and posts are intensely repetitive.
So, after the nominee is called no change except to try to figure out how much change the new rules might have meant, or not. I'll have trouble remembering who was here before who might be gone, but probably people will chat about it.

(31,849 posts)By putting people on ignore, you miss most of the entertainment!
I DO, however, have DU:GD trashed, along with a Democrats Group, though.

(34,136 posts)who were petty, mean, snotty (oh yes the snotty ones went fast) and those who consistently made up crap and slung it widely and often. Those people, even though I had respected many of them before, are gone forever. They were not who I thought they were. That behavior does not fly with me IRL and I will not tolerate the childishness that goes along with it here, if I am still here.
I do have a few still who were good friends, I just do not read what they write because those are friendships that go beyond all of this.
When you cannot discuss issues because of petty disruptions then there is no reason to think those disruptions and petty behaviors will change. I would rather come here and be able to move beyond the feces throwing.

(34,136 posts)a long time! You are too kind but I have to say, it is the same for me with you. When I see you I read you. I may not always comment but I do read you and you are one of the good one's. How we have both managed to stay here this long is beyond me Long breaks I guess!

My best to you.

(40,416 posts)Sometimes there is some good stuff there. Lots of chaff to get to the wheat, though. Mostly infantile behavior, if you ask me. How anybody could rationally think that such a thing is helpful is beyond me.
GD.P is mostly a toxic waste dump occupied by immature brats. But there is still a little bit of sanity there. Don't get me started about the candidate groups which have no benefit here whatsoever. Safe havens? Safe from what? Reason, I suspect.

(12,164 posts)Not individuals. Once the convention happens it won't make much difference if I untrash them. One thing that will be noticeable is when I go to the Latest page there won't be all that blank space at the bottom.

I used my ignore list for the first time seriously. Most of it was because I did not like who I became when I read the crap. Saved my ass I am sure from a few good kickings!

(19,569 posts)I don't think I have anyone on it ATM. Sometimes I put someone on it if they're having a bad moment, but that's just to help clear the clutter.
I live in hostile territory for a Democrat. There's not much here I can't wade through, and not come out fine on the other side.
Which doesn't mean I enjoy seeing snipes from people I consider friends, but our friendship is more than the things we disagree on. We're still more alike than different. I get that. It's why we clicked in the first pace after all.

(8,393 posts)I don't ignore people who disagree with me; I ignore people who are hostile, rude, or belligerent. In general, those qualities stay with a person, no matter when in the election cycle.
They're not there because I disagree with them. I'm around people all day who I disagree with on any given subject. The people on my ignore list are people who I don't want to be around.
