"SNIP..............
The former Daily Show host signed a four-year production deal with HBO to make a few minutes of content now and again back in November 2015. While the shows format has not been fully revealed, it will focus on short-form videos geared toward the HBO Now platform, the networks stand-alone streaming option for cord-cutters. (It might look a little like this.)
Until now, we had no idea exactly when we could expect Stewarts return to television after leaving The Daily Show in August.
But HBO CEO Richard Plepler stated he is hopeful that Stewarts new show would debut on the network before the general election in November at a Paley Media Council talk in New York on Thursday.
Surely the 2016 election cycle is providing a temptingly rich trove of material to work with, so well be keeping a keen eye out for Stewarts HBO debut in the coming months.

(2,902 posts)He disrespected the USO by breaking his word and spewing a bunch of politics after giving his word he wouldn't. Sad to see his supporters result to such dishonest means to protect him.

(2,916 posts)Lying, because he changed his mind about something he has every right to decide for himself as an adult in the entertainment industry? He's a comedian. What a bizarre charge.
He clearly needed a break, very understandably, and now that he's had one, maybe he's feeling refreshed? It's harming nobody. The only one who should be worried here is Donald Trump.

I find it curious a DU member has a problem with Stewart.
